MAGID M-GARD Aramax Sleeves are manufactured using MAGID 's proprietary Aramax Yarn, a unique, engineered blend of high performance polyethylene (HPPE), fiberglass and synthetic fibers. Constructed in a lightweight seamless machine knit style, Aramax Sleeves possess ANSI Cut Level 3 cut resistance with excellent abrasion resistance, making these sleeves ideal for applications requiring the handling of objects with sharp and jagged edges such as glass and metal. I liked the product overall - I would just need to cut/modify one of the seams to get it around my forearm and upper arm. I have a larger than average arms, it would not be comfortable to wear this all day as it currently sits since it was cutting off some circulation, and made it a bit difficult to put on. Otherwise the cut-resistant portion (the middle of the sleeve) was very comfy, very flexible, and worked extremely well stopping cuts against a razor. ... show more

This very thin sleeve does not provide adequate protection against direct contact with very sharp pointy objects. Example: small animal teeth. The sleeve is very scratchy against skin, would work better layered with other clothing.

    • PROTECTS, BUT A LITTLE TIGHT

The material really is resistant to cutting or scratching since I use these primarily when I’m trimming bushes I have around the house that have thorns or prickly ends that tends to cut or scratch me. Now being a senior (when did that happen??) I scratch pretty easily and don’t heal like I used to, so having this kind of protection is very important these days. When I first put them on I could just barely get them to slip over my forearms and my arms are not very big either, so that was notable enough to mention, plus the sewn hem on each end was very tight when I had them completely on. It would be impossible to get them on if I was outside working, they just wouldn’t slide over a damp arm. I hope they stretch a little as time goes by, these remind me on how difficult it was to get my wet suit on whenever I went Scuba diving. Reaching down into one of these plants to trim or cut out dead fronds is a lot easier now, but I don’t understand why anyone would put out a product that really should be a “pair” and not a single, so I’ll have to get another sleeve to be able to be fully protected. ... show more

    • Bought for cuts, also got protection during frying

I chose this item due to the cut protection. Ended up using it when I was frying some seasoned chicken and it protected from those nasty hot fry splashes. Will definitely get one more since I originally used it for sharpening knives (I hate chainmail on the skin).
