#1 buy a "commercial" or "industrial" receptacle. The normal ones you get from homeless despot are made for ovens (applications where they never/rarely get unplugged and don't have a continuous load for 8 hours) buy from hubbel or bryant. #2 you need a gfci breaker amps and wire gauge are extremely annoying to figure out. I did 6-3 romex and a 50A gfi breaker. #3 use 6 gauge wires if you're doing romex and a 50A breaker. You can do your own research but I got sick of people bickering about NEC code and other crap. It was only 20$ more in my application to upside and not read anymore pedantic debates about conduit fill, continuous load for hard wired vs receptacle based ev chargers blah blah blah blah. ... show more

    • Great, when it works
When it works, this charge cable is great. It started having issues in the first month and died in the second month. The manufacturer did replace it no charge and it seems to be working for now. Took 2 weeks to replace which was challenging since this is my primary charger. Hopefully I don’t have to utilize the 3 year warranty again. The Wi-Fi connection is a silly feature and could just have controls with an external physical switch. ... show more

love the long cord, old house doesn’t give me the best options for plugin locations but could get from the outlet to my id4. plenty of attachments for travel peace of mind. charged fast as expected, and smart enough

    • Just what I needed to replace the OEM EV charger.
I purchased this to replace mobile wall connector. It worked flawlessly with the J1772 adapter provided by Tesla and charges at the same rate. This was a perfect replacement and included all the wall plugs needed, including NEMA 6-50p and NEMA 5-15p.

    • Good, could be better
Having to connect to its wifi network to change settings is really quite annoying. I get that there are dip switches somewhere stashed inside to control total output but that's not very practical. Having to remember a random IP address to connect to it is silly. Having it contain it's own DNS resolution for something simple like myportablecharger.com or something would be way better, but I'd still just rather it be a bluetooth app. The cable is long and sturdy, the device is light and high quality.
