From the Manufacturer The 50-foot Water Weeper Hose is one of Gilmour's specialty soft soaking hoses. It provides gentle, even soaking as water "weeps" through thousands of pores. The hose is extremely flexible for precise positioning around plants and beside flower beds. It saves water by reducing evaporation and targeting specific areas that need to be watered, thereby cutting down on over-saturation and water waste. It can be used above ground or buried, so you have the flexibility you need to work with your water system. I'll be darned. The instructions said to roll this out on the concrete to let it lay flat. That took a few minutes. We hooked this up and it works well. Even distribution across the entire hose. Great item and it will make our new plants grow big and strong. Would buy again.

This soaker hose works great. It’s big enough to let plenty of water through it, so the area gets watered in a very short time. I haven’t had it through our long hot summer in coastal South Carolina yet, so I can’t comment on its life span.

I was using the Apex hose and getting about 3 months use out of them. I normally bought them at Big Orange and then Big Blue. They were cheap enough that it didn't bother me much to buy a new one but after both places changed to the miracle-gro branded hose with plastic ends that didn't seal I went looking on Amazon for something more commercial grade. I've had the Gilmour about 2 months. The brass end isn't quite commercial but it seals and is holding up. the hose itself doesn't break when it kinks which is refreshing since that was one of the problem with the Apex. Water distributions along the length is pretty good but not perfect but it's as good or better than any weeper hose I've had. One trick I use is when I turn on the water I leave the end cap a little loose until all the air is out of the house and water comes out. Then I screw down the end cap and immediately see water start to weep. I use this hose in various places so it is always picked up and put away with each use. it's a little heavy when it's wet. It's a full inch across and holds a lot of water. I lay it out to let it drain for a few moments before I coil it in big loose coils to put away out of the sun and it's manageable for this 60 year old. . I'm definitely happier with this hose than any other I've had of this type. September 2019 update. I use this 2-3 times a week and it still hasn't ruptured despite 2-3 a week of uncoiling it, pulling out the kinks and dragging it across the lawn or snaking it around a lemon tree and a hedge. No ruptures, no leaks. October '21 update: Not being used as often. Maybe once a month but it's still in great shape and hasn't ruptured anywhere even after many, many bends and kinks. Storing it in the garage certainly helps but still four or so years is excellent service for a soaker hose. ... show more

I have only used it a few times but I like it. The hose seems sturdy and the water weeps nicely. Attaching the weeper to my garden hose was easily. No leaks! It’s easy to move around in between plants. Very glad it’s black. I will purchase another one
