  • PRECISE TEMPERATURE CONTROL: 1/10 HP refrigeration compressor delivers consistent cooling. Lowers water temperature by up to 10F to maintain 68-78F optimal range; rated for 42gal tanks, with 33gal recommended in peak summer for stable performance across varying room temperatures
  • ALL-INCLUSIVE INSTALLATION KIT: Bundled with upgraded stainless steel shaft pump, tubing and secure hose clamps. Sourcing compatible accessories for chillers often leads to mismatched parts and complicated setups. Enables plug-and-play installation, with optimized water flow direction that minimizes substrate disturbance to avoid stirring up settled sediment at the tank bottom
  • RELIABLE CONTINUOUS COOLING: Dual high-speed fans paired with enlarged side vents accelerate heat expulsion. Prolonged summer operation risks compressor overheating and unexpected shutdowns. Maintains efficient cooling during extended use as long as 6 inches of clearance is left around the unit for unobstructed airflow
  • VERSATILE ECOSYSTEM SUPPORT: Stable refrigeration cycle supports consistent water temperature across diverse setups. Hobbyists need reliable cooling for freshwater, saltwater and hydroponic systems. Safe for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums, supporting healthy growth of corals, ornamental fish and hydroponic plant roots without temperature fluctuations

Description

From a humble workshop to industry leadership, we’ve spent a decade mastering one mission: delivering precision temperature control for every marine and freshwater aquarium. Whether you’re in desert regions or sweltering summer cities—tired of unreliable AC or messy ice bottle hacks—BAOSHISHAN provides the perfect fish tank chiller to keep your underwater world stable and thriving. Visit the Store Visit the Store Shield your tropical fish from lethal temperature swings. Unlike fragile heaters, our 24/7 stable cooling prevents Ich outbreaks and keeps your community tank thriving Essential fail-safe for axolotls: automated climate control replaces unreliable ice hacks, ensuring critical temperature stability 24/7—whether you’re home, on vacation, or facing a 100°F heatwave. Achieve maximum growth and yield by maintaining the ideal nutrient solution temperature. Our chillers ensure optimal nutrient uptake and root health, preventing disease for a more efficient harvest. Why you need to let the chiller stand for 24 hours after receiving it ? Moving refrigeration units can push lube oil and refrigerant into the compressor, wrecking it. Without post-shipment rest, failure rates hit 12-15%. Letting it sit cuts failures to 0.3-0.7% as fluids settle. Easy fix saves big! How to choose a chiller model in summer? When the indoor temp goes up, the cooling system becomes 20% less efficient. The suggested water volume is 80% of the standard water volume What should be paid attention to when using the chiller ? Firstly, let the chiller stand for 24 hours before turning on, secondly, check whether the amount of water is lower than the standard requirements, removing calcium deposits/salt creep/other hard minerals. How to cleaning the chiller ? 2 TO 3 MONTHS. 2 parts 100% distilled vinegar to 3 parts water bath is safe and effective at removing calcium deposits/salt creep/other hard minerals that build up in the chiller over time. • Better than I’d hoped
Size: 160L
I have a large shrimp tank that was fetter hot in the summer. I wanted something to keep the shrimpers cool and happy. Bought this on a lightning sale and haven’t looked back. Quick version: keeps a thirty-gallon tank cool and consistent at 68-73 degrees, no problem in an 80-degree room. Fan noise is a thing. It isn’t silent. The noise level is about the same as a small window air conditioner. Doesn’t bother me, but a thing to consider. Only makes noise when the fans are on. In my case it pops on about every 30 min for about two minutes. The pics are misleading. The tubing is 1/2 tubing with a pretty powerful power head that pushes water through the system constantly. This creates a powerful outflow. In a 20-50 gallon tank, this will create a whirlpool unless you deflect the outflow stream. I wrapped some course filter material around the outflow and attached it with zip ties, creating a soft dispersed current perfect for the shrimps. The power jet has large open intake vents, anything smaller than a platy is going to get diced and sliced. Guppies, endlers, shrimps, etc will need protection from the suction of death. I used coarse filter material attached with zip ties to cover the vents, which keeps small critters safe while not hurting the flow. When the unit pops on there is a small joint or movement to the unit, it the unit is on the same surface as the aquarium, it may startle or stress out your critters. The unit does not come with suction cups to hold the tubing in place. Trust me, you’ll want suction cups to hold the tubing. The power head will push a lot of water consistently through the tubes. These are thick unwieldy tubes. You can wreck your flooring in a matter of seconds if the outage tube wiggles free of the aquarium. Some said theirs didn’t ship with instructions. Mine came with a guide for setup and settings. Setting the unit temp is pretty easy, but not exactly intuitive. A benefit of this unit is an internal battery that keeps your settings even if the power goes out, worth the extra money! All in all, great product. My shrimps are happy and cool. Has been running for two months without issue. Update: The unit has been working extremely well for the past 4 months. In the summer the unit pops on about every 20 min, I was worried this would overwork the unit, but so far no problems. Has been keeping my 40-gallon tanks at a perfect 73.5 all through the summer. Overall very happy with the unit. As mentioned above, it isn't silent, so take that into consideration. Also, it will heat up a small room....so your fish may be nice and chilly, but the heat removed from the aquarium dispersed from the output fans will heat up a small room. ... show more

  • Great while it lasted..
Size: 160L
I’ve had this aquarium tank chiller for about five years, and for the first four it was absolutely solid. It kept my axolotl’s water at a perfect, stable temperature and honestly made tank maintenance so much easier. But last year things took a turn, the tank suddenly became foggy and sweaty, and the water dropped way too cold for my axolotl’s comfort. I took the whole system apart, cleaned the tubing and the inside of the chiller, and thankfully it started working again. Unfortunately, the same issue came back this year, and this time cleaning didn’t save it. It officially stopped working altogether. I’ve noticed other reviewers reporting the exact same problem, so definitely keep that in mind before buying. When it works, it works really well, but once this issue starts, it seems to be the beginning of the end. ... show more

  • Great chiller for a great price...don't let the negative reviews dissuade you!
Size: 160L
I see a lot of reviews here from unhappy customers complaining about this chiller overloading their electrical circuits. They seem not to realize that the maximum current rating is listed right here on the product listing, and if they can't figure out how not to overload a circuit, that isn't a defect in this product, nor is it the company's fault. Receiving 1-star ratings due to user error is ridiculous. Pros: I bought the 160-L version, and I think it's fantastic. I grow cannabis hydroponically (specifically using Deep Water Culture), where the water reservoir needs to stay below ~72 degrees Fahrenheit to keep the root zone free of harmful bacteria. My plants were nearly killed by root rot more than once, but since adding this chiller to my system I haven't had any problems. It keeps the ~80-L reservoir as cold as I'd like—I keep it set to 13.5 degrees Celsius (56.3 degrees Fahrenheit), which usually results in a temperature reading of ~60 degrees Fahrenheit at the root zone. This is within the advertised uncertainty when also factoring in the First Law of Thermodynamics (the chiller intake and return are at the bottom of the reservoir, where the temperature is the lowest). For this reason, you should always measure the actual temperature of the water depending on the location of the intake and return are, but in general this chiller does exactly what you ask. The construction is solid, and the parts most people will need come with the purchase, including a hose, pipe fittings, o-rings, a submersible pump, etc. Personally, I wanted maximum flow through the largest possible cross-section, and it was fairly simple to remove the 3/8" fittings and replace them with 1/2" fittings (and matching tubing) that don't restrict flow at all. I imagine that full cooling may take even less time than the advertised cooling curves if you also choose to upgrade to 1/2". I also bought a separate pump to use inline rather than the less powerful submersible pump included, but I did test the included pump and it worked just fine. When trying to force less pliable tubing onto the new fittings I ended up hearing a super loud, metallic bang of internal parts, which resulted in an annoying clicking noise for the next few days. Eventually the noise went away, which seems to me to be a reflection of the resilience of this chiller. Customer service was top notch as well. They kept me appraised of every step of the (shorter than expected) overseas shipping journey, from confirmation of the regional electrical specifications to questions about changing the size of the pipe fittings. The representatives of the company were thoughtful, sincere, and always there to answer your questions or address any problems. Cons: Admittedly, the complaints about the instructions being useless are valid; however, there are also clear instructions on this product page. It's also slightly inconvenient to convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit, but complaining about that is incredibly lazy. You only need to do the conversion once, provided you aren't constantly changing the desired temperature. The message on the screen is written only with Chinese characters, but honestly it hardly matters what it says given the simplicity of operation, the small number of buttons to press, and the brief amount of time the message is shown when setting the desired temperature. --- My chiller has been running nonstop for over a month now, and it's my opinion that you should look no further to get a quality chiller for a bargain. While it isn't perfect, I think it's worth 5/5 stars nonetheless. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS!!
Size: 300L
ETA: I was supposedly getting help from Amazon, who told me to re-purchase the item and then they would refund that once it arrived. I was assured that there was a note in my file explaining that I was to get a refund for the $450 purchase. However, when I reached out, they rescinded that offer and said they won't be refunding me. I just spent ANOTHER $450 on this chiller, and now I have to return it and wait weeks to get THAT refund from Amazon. In other words, once you're out of the basic Amazon return window, even if it is a very expensive product that should withstand much more than a year of basic use, they will NOT help you! So, again, DO NOT BUY THIS!! Honestly, with Amazon's awful response, I highly recommend going to the actual manufacturer of a better brand instead of purchasing through Amazon. It's what I plan to do. This will work... for a while. Then it stops working, leaving your animals stressed and at risk of death!! At one point, about 7 months into owning this chiller, it suddenly dropped from 62 degrees (F) all the way down to 44!!! My poor axolotls were frozen, and I was afraid they wouldn't make it. Thankfully they did. Now, just as I've hit the one year mark (conveniently where their warranty ceases), the chiller has stopped working two additional times. It has the lights on and is reading 63 degrees, but it is 74 degrees in the tank! It did this a week and a half ago, and I sat down and re-calibrated the machine, got it chilling again, and now it's back to being broken. For over $400, this should NOT be breaking less than a year of use!!! Absolutely a waste of money, and now I can't even find any information on customer service so I can share these issues. This was for my axolotls in my classroom, so guess what teacher now has to drop hundreds of additional dollars on ANOTHER chiller out of pocket because this company couldn't be bothered to make a quality item. ... show more

  • Works great - time will be the test! Replaced a broken JBJ-050 chiller with this.
Size: 160L
I had a JBJ-050 chiller for my axolotl. JBJ's are supposed to the be best, right? Yeah, no. The JBJ had a weak fan, and I had to add another fan to it to keep air flowing. That created a lot of noise. This chiller has TWO internal fans, both moving quite a bit of air. They're connected to the thermostat, so they don't always run, keeping the noise levels down. Even when running, it's pretty quiet. The compressor makes as much noise as a typical mini-fridge. Nothing notable about that. The temperature display unit is easy to use and program. Its about 3-deg F 'high' on mine, there is an offset/calibration but it isn't important to me because I have a temp probe in the tank. The hose connections work well with my fluval hoses. That's commendable right there - as I had to get really creative with my JBJ to make that connection work. This was a simple hose clamp (included) and hose angle adapters with gaskets (both included). Very nice! The only bad? Even though the unit arrived in a double boxed container, placed in an amazon box (so it was triple boxed!), there was impact damage to the back of the case bending the fan vents. Not bad, but noticeable. Since this was a last minute order to replace my broken JBJ-050, I didn't ask for replacement, as I needed to use this one right away. Once I get a refund from JBJ on their broken chiller, I'll probably order another one of these as a 'backup' so if this one ever does stop working, I can immediately swap out a good one without having to do the refrigerated water change dance I had to do this week. Based on it's performance, I'd recommend this over other more expensive solutions! ... show more

Size: 300L
This was easy to set up and worked wonderfully for about 3 1/2 years. Then I woke up one morning to my tank a chilly 39°F. My axolotls survived but the chiller is done.
