  • Great Value, Really Happy
Color: Silver
Just got a pair of these and i am surprised at how nice they are. I was expecting budget parts and the usual assembly from hell but whoever was incharge of packaging for this company did a great job and made my day a little better. When you first open the top flap sitting there, in a way it can not fall in to the box, is the bright red instruction manual. It made it super easy to find and read first. There is litteraly 6 parts and 2 sizes of screws so very easy to assemble, and i did not need the larger bolts for the anchors so i just needed to worry about one size of screw. This alone is wonderful because so much crap these days have 12 different types of fasteners. I picked out the screws and washers i needed and pulled out the parts, again kudos to who ever handles packaging, the little things help like the red ribbon attached to the parts bag so again it is easy to find and the zip ties holding parts together so they stay together while you unload the box. I was about to go search for tools and again another surprise, they had a open end wrench and screwdriver in there for me as well. I love these little reversible screwdrivers with both flat and philips ends, i put them around the house so i loved getting more and i didn't even have to go search for tools. Now the base is still covered in the protective plastic most new stainless comes this way and i was expecting this. I enlisted my 6 year old and she had loads of fun pulling it off. I suggest getting the plastic off before assembly it went quick and because the plastic wraps the corners it was easier to pull off when unassembled. I think people complain about this part but last time i bought a high end heater it came the same way, i guess some companies may pull it off for you but then they probably also get the stainless steel all marked up when packaging so i think it is standard to leave it on for the customer to remove. It goes fairly quick just be patient getting the pieces around the rivets i only used my hands and got 99% of it off. I built it a little differently, i put the hood, and grills on the burner section first so it was low to the ground, then put the base and the stainless body together so then all i had to do was set the burner section on top of the base body, did not have to use a chair or anything did it all at a nice working height. It took maybe 40min total for me to put 2 together this way plus the free kid help of about 30 min so by myself it may have taken a little over an hr to build 2 of these. I do highly suggest getting 2 things before you assemble. Get a little pack of loctite and anti-seze from your auto parts store. They are about $1 each at the register and you will be glad you did next year. For some reason all heaters the screws in the base become loose and fall out and the wing nuts on the hood get rusted and freeze. Lock tight the screws in the base as you assemble and put some automotive anti-seize (good with heat) on the wing nuts so they come back off in the future. I also bought a handful of thumb bolts at my local true value, when transporting i plan to break the top and bottom sections in half to make smaller. 4 thumb screws now hold both sections together and they come apart quick and easy. I suppose also if you wanted to install the burner section in to a table or build a stone base for it you could do that easily the bottom section is only a place for the tank to sit there is no plumbing down there the top section sits flat without the base attached. I also took a photo of the burner section if anyone needs it. You can see at the top of the black square burner box there are a couple wires going in to a little black thing, that is the anti tip device. If your having trouble with it cutting out check that, i have had them go out and think the unit is tipped over when it is not cutting the gas flow, glad to see it in a easy to service location. also you can see the thicker bare copper wire, that is the heat sensor for the pilot light. If you are having trouble getting it to register the pilot light and turn on gas flow this is what feeds the heat to the little security valve. ... show more

  • Looks beautifil
Color: Silver
it's like advertised. We bought this one since it's not as tall as other outdoor heaters and we need to put it under a 7.5 feet tall canopy. The heat coming from it is ok. not great. Perhaps a modification on the top shield would improve it. My wife sitting next to it is happy with the warmth, 1 chair next to her it's not doing much. We'll see how it works in fall. The glass tube with the flame inside looks wonderful at night. ... show more

  • Difficult to light
Color: Silver
The product was relatively easy to assemble and looks great. However, I am finding it difficult to light. You need to turn the switch to ignite the pilot and then hold for 60 seconds. If that doesn't work then you need to try again!! I don't think you should have to wait 60 seconds to find out if it lit or not!! I can see the pilot sparking but it is not catching. I bought 2 heaters and it is the same on both units. I have resorted to lighting with a hand lighter. Also the heat generated is not as good as my previous much older heaters - might be the size of the top cover - it is much narrower. Probably wouldn't buy again at this point. ... show more

  • Looks good. Moderate heat improved with simple mods.
Color: Silver
Looks good and it is shorter than typical heaters and able to fit under umbrellas. Heat output is low (typical of such designs with a quartz tube). I modified with a metal sheet inside the safety mesh and at the top vent to reflect heat and direct hot air to the side that faces my patio table. I also replaced the heat deflector at the top with a larger one and it worked wonders to direct heat downwards and improved warming significantly. ... show more

  • Beautiful flame
Color: Silver
This heater looks so pretty at night, the flame lights up the area. As far as heat is it OK. We have 2 and if it is very cold you have to be sitting right by it to feel the heat. It does take the chill off. If you have a covered patio it would probably work even better.

  • Pretty with exposed flame but not as warm as they come.
Color: Silver
It’s a nice heater - not the warmest I’ve owned, but adequate considering its BTU rating. A huge improvement would be electronic ignition rather than a pilot light.

  • Patio heater
Color: Silver
Nice looking and stable heater. we use it on our outdoor patio. does not put out as much heat as others we've had but still does a nice enough job.

  • Great addition to our patio.
Color: Silver
I was looking for a more compact heater, that was shorter than the standard patio heater, to avoid cooking the decorative patio lights. I also liked the fact that the heater brings the heat down closer to those sitting in patio chairs and adds a visual element to a gathering. I also found a cover that works really well: Protective Covers 2245-TN Patio Heater Cover, Tan. ... show more
