Handle holder is plastic, cable hook is metal sandwiched to the holder. Out of the box trying to swivel the holder by hand is little hard but when mounted to the wall and handle attached it swivels well. Only thought is while the hooks edges are not sharp but still flat and potentially can cut into the cable, would be better if the hook had wings bent down to better align with rolled cable.
