    • Adjustments require disassembly to change dip switches
Aesthetically this charger is nice and is rated up to 50amps. Unfortunately with a Nema 6-50 or 14-50 plug on a 50amp breaker, the maximum current should be set to 40amps with the internal dip switches. This setting would achieve the maximum AC charge rates for most EVs. Even wiring this directly to achieve the maximum 50amp charging current would require a 70amp circuit breaker and most likely be a waste unless one's EV was capable of AC charging over 11kw. ... show more

This product comes in two flavors, one where it can connect to a normal NEMA outlet and one that can be hardwired into the panel. I accidentally got the hardwired one and had to replace it. I recently purchased an EV and wanted a faster charger for my home. I did read the reviews where some said they installed it themselves and I realized I am not capable of doing so. I did call and electrician to have it installed however my HOA will not allow this on my townhome. So I will hold on to it since we plan to move soon and have it installed then.
