I used this charger last night and it worked quite well. I ran it at 240v and 40 amps and it charged my car at 9.4kw. The display read 240 V but only showed a max of 38.1 amps - but I guess that is close enough. The plug fit nice and tight into my outlet and it never heated up which indicates it has a good plug and makes a tight connection. It was easy to use, but the interphase is a little awkward. When you plug it in you see an area you can touch. The first one sets the amperage in pre-defined levels and then then after you wait it lets you set a delay to start but only in increments of full hours not hours and minutes. I believe this only goes up to five hours, but it might have been more. There is not clock built into it, and it does not let you set a shut off time nor a charge limit, so you need to set that in your car. This makes it difficult to set things exactly incase you are on a time of use electric plan and want it to start at a set time and shut off before rates might go up. The other concern I have is while I have not measured I think it is short of the 25 feet they talk about as it just barely made it to my car charging port while my Juicebox unit which claims to be 25 feet makes it with quite a bit of extra cable. Overall, not a bad unit especially for the price and given that most of these only go up to 32 amps, so 40amp is a big plus.

I went to Home Depot and purchased a NEMA 50 amp socket, which I wired into my breaker box in a perfect location in the garage. This charger plugged right into my 2023 Volvo C-40 and worked as it should, especially compared to the portable charger that came with the car. It easily earns a 5-star rating, considering its build quality, the long cord, and value for the money.

I own several EV chargers, including a Tesla Universal Wall Charger (48A) with an adapter. In my dual shipping container, which I use as a garage and storage unit, I have a NoName 40A J1772 charger. I wanted a small, powerful charger to keep in the car and found this one. Its compact form factor and 40A output are more than sufficient. The included bag is a great addition for keeping everything organized. I'm giving it 4 stars because, after purchasing, I discovered other chargers at the same price point that include a wall mount, color display (though not essential), a regular outlet adapter, and are NACS, making them more future-proof."

I recently just bought an Ionic 6, I have been fortunate to find chargers here on Amazon. This charger goes up to 40amps, you do need a 240v. The length of the cable is long enough in case your outlet is far or don't have a garage. Love that it charges up to 9.5kw and i am able to adjust to a lower charging speed and take this with me if I do a trip. I find it simple, good quality plug and play ev charger. Can't go wrong with it. Great value for your money.
