Works Great and well built!
I charge my EV at work and I need a extension cable to reach my M3 from the building. This cable is flexible and sturdy. Not so bulky as those RV extension cable. I use it to charge my M3 using 208v 40amp charger, I get 32 miles per hours which my car is ready long before I get off work and ready to go everyday. Great customer service
11 months after I ordered, I noticed the handle didn’t quite latch into my truck all the way, there was just a little play. I contacted evdance, who asked me to send a short video of the problem, and they let me choose between a replacement or a full refund. Really great customer service.

Decent cable in cold months, charge derates in warmer weather due to plug temperatures
We've been using this cable for months to solve the issue of only having one EVSE installed. During the winter months, this cable has been fantastic, though I will say it loses about 100W as heat - the voltage drop is evident, and you'll see about 0.1 kW (100W) charging speed differences if you use this cable. As mentioned, during the winter months, this was a great option despite the power loss. However, in warmer weather (70°F and higher), we're starting to notice that the car is derating the charge speed due to heat that forms at the plug. The wiring doesn't get all that hot, but the plug does. A 1.5-hour charge starts at 9.5-9.6 kW (without the cable we'd be seeing 9.6-9.7kW) and then drops to 8.3 or even just now 8.0 kW by the time it completed. The plug on the car was just about hot enough to burn your finger. Clearly, the thermistor in the car's plug was causing the onboard charger to draw less power to keep things in check. I was expecting better performance in the warmer weather, given that the wiring doesn't heat as much. I may have to put in another charging station after all if this keeps up, as the weather is only continuing to warm up now. ... show more

Eliminates the need to swap cars to charge
We have two EVs and a PHEV. We have a one car garage that's too small to fit any cars in and a narrow one car driveway. We have two chargers: one hardwired and one plugged into a NEMA 14-50 outlet. We would park two cars in the driveway and if you angled things just right, you could charge both cars. When one was done, we'd swap a car out and charge the 3rd. It worked, but it was a pain. We finally get a side area paved, barely wide enough to fit two cars. Just one problem: they're too far away for any of the chargers to reach. This extension cord has been a life-saver. All three cars can now be charged without having to move any of them and with the side paved area, each car can come and go independently of one another. This isn't the fault of the cable, but my NEMA 14-50 EVSE is only 32A and while that works fine, I technically could replace it with a 40A EVSE. If I did that, however, I'd have to also replace this extension cable, since it's only rated for 32V EVSEs. Again, that's no fault of the cable. One last thing. Of course, any 15 year old could come buy and unplug the extension cable. They won't be able to walk away with it since one end will be locked into the car and the other end is locked into the outlet at the wall, but they can separate the extension cord. Doesn’t hold up or last
Meh quality. The handle clip broke after about 6 months and now the whole cord has stopped working. I’d expect more than 1.5 years of life when only using 1-2 times a week.

Works Out Of the Box
Plug-and-play. It works exactly as advertised and desired. This plugged firmly into a J1772 charger (from Lectron) with a satisfying snap. I needed the added length since my charger is inside the garage and the vehicle sits outside. Removing the connector is easy and straight forward; grip it, push the top button your thumb (click), and pull. There is an included rubberized contact cover to keep out water and debris, that you must put on manually. As anticipated, the cable is not lightweight, but it is not onerously heavy. NOTE that this is NOT the charging extension cable you want for commercial DC fast, or DC ultra-fast charging stations, where they use an additional 2 conductors not found on this cable. ... show more

Initially disappointed. But received excellent customer service to correct the problem.
Well packaged. Worked well initially. I like the protective connector caps. Nice storage bag. Good price. However, after about a dozen uses, the female connector did not make good contact with the male connector from the charger. The problem was confirmed with two chargers from different manufacturers. The cable had been stored in the trunk of the car between uses. I didn't see any visible damage. There was no water damage. Moving the cable at the female connector slightly caused the charging cycle to abruptly terminate. Although it was past the 30-day Amazon return window, EVDANCE honored its 12-month warranty . They sent out a replacement cable promptly and it works perfectly. I returned the defective cable and EVDANCE refunded the shipping cost. If I need any additional EV accessories, I will be glad to look at the offerings of EVDANCE. Good customer service means a lot to me. ... show more
