This is a heavy and sturdy umbrella. The material is thick and not cheap like the $49 umbrellas you buy elsewhere. The open tiers are nice for wind. I know it’s a lot more than other umbrella’s but this is a well made and beautiful umbrella that appears long lasting.

I had a problem with the tilt mechanism completely breaking down earlier this Spring of 2021 with my previous purchase from Fall, 2019. I then wrote an unfavorable review here. This is my revised review: Unsoliicited by me, the company reached out this past week about the problem I had. They gave me detailed instructions and photos on how to disassemble the broken umrbrella which was stuck in the up/open position. They offered and I accepted a brand new replacement umbrella at no cost! The company indicated that they have researched and improved the internal mechanics in this "new" version of the umbrella. I just received the new umbrella today. It came just 3 days after they contacted me! I will update this review as to the longevity of the mechanics. Other than the tilt mechanism problem, I had no issues with the rest of the umbrella. I liked the quality and look of the sunbrella fabric, very durable, and the 3 tiered designlooks cool and is a plus to reduce problems with windy conditions. Meanwhile, if you buy (bought) one of these and have a problem, I would encourage you to contact the compant (Elite Shade) thru the Amazon marketplace. My direct experience with them recently is they have fast and excellent comunication and stellar customer service.

The look and the fabric are fantastic. The cord that pulls the canopy up and down eventually broke. It was some type of fabric like cord. I replaced it with a 1/16" PVC coated stainless steel cable (see picture) and that worked great. It took a lot of patience to get the cable routed. ;-) A couple years later the plastic pulley broke. I replaced it with a brass pulley and expect this thing will easily last another 5 years. Not too bad for the money. Luckily I'm able to make these upgrades myself... otherwise this would not have been such a great value for me. My umbrella was used on a rooftop balcony that gets extremely hot on a regular basis during the summer. The umbella was out in these conditions and was covered but still outside during cold winter conditions (mid atlantic area), so it doesn't surprise me that the cord and pulley failed.

The pagoda style is more sophisticated and taller. It looks so much better than a regular market umbrella. Crank works well and with more vents it is more stable when the wind blows. Well made. Pleased.

I left my 3-tier umbrella up all summer to protect a table from bird droppings. We had a thunderstorm yesterday; the upper plastic part of the pole broke and when it fell over, it bent the lower part of the pole that went through the table and pulled the entire teak table over on its side. Photos included. I bought it May 2, 2021, 5 months ago. I thought the 3-tiers would protect it from high wind. I guess not. I do not know if the plastic part was cracked to start with, but the box was not damaged. I bought this to replace a faded umbrella with no tiers and no plastic connection parts. That umbrella was left up every summer for 10 years and did not break. If you never leave the umbrella up in thunderstorms, it is very nice and just what you are looking for. It is so expensive! But only worked for one summer. I am asking for a replacement though I did not get the warranty. I will let you know if the vendor replaces it. If so, I will inspect the plastic part and watch the weather more closely! Update: the product failure was within the 6 month warrantee period but the company is classifying 24 MPH winds as "destroyed by a natural disaster" and not as failed during normal use. (I sent a download of the wind data for that day.) Still discussing this with them but am very unhappy with my $250 purchase. They are only offering to sell me a frame for $70 with the expectation that I can transfer the canopy and have a $320 umbrella. Update: They sent a replacement. It arrived broken in a different place. See circled area in the 4th photo and compare it to the first frame above it. Since I like the canopy style and color, I am asking them to send a replacement for the replacement.

Well made & beautiful! I bought these several months ago for my very sunny backyard in dire need of shade! They’re holding up very well so far. I’m in So. California and it doesn’t rain much here but I do put them away in garage for the fall/winter, so I can’t review how well they’ll hold up in those conditions. The sun is covered nicely and brings down the temperature quite a bit when under the shade. I enjoy the tilt feature and due to super strong winds here, I got the 3-tier which have held up perfectly! I do close them when not in use and wouldn’t leave them open in a wind storm or ANY umbrella will probably get damaged. Be wise. I wanted another umbrella to place over my grilling area but the prices have climbed significantly and refuse to pay that much! I did find one IN STORE for about $145+ less with LED lights AND larger size in 3-tier—Sunbrella fabric!!! Shop around, stores are still less expensive than Amazon, in some cases! I’ve seen things double or triple the price here on Amazon and people are buying them!!! Have you seen gas prices lately?! It’s still cheaper to drive to a store! Get up and go, if you want to save money!!! I’d buy this umbrella again here on Amazon if prices dropped. There’s no excuse for such a steep increase in price!!! Small increase due to high fuel prices but over $100?!!! C’mon!
