I was looking for a chicken coop that was shaped like a house, and this one did not disappoint. There is room for 6 laying hens, and I like the tin bottom instead of wood. Wood absorbs bad smells. It was very easy to put together and the instructions were easy enough. The only thing I don't like, is the dividers easily fall out of place. I reinforced mine with wider strips of wood on either side of them. The color is beautiful and the house is plenty sturdy enough. I also bought a large pen to go around it. My chickens love this coop! It is very easy to clean, move, and use all together. I built this by myself, took me about 4 hours with distractions and sun set, but was still very easy to put together. You definitely get your money's worth as it is very durable and spacious.

It's worth it. Easy to build even as a petite lady using only a phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench. Chickens are happy. There was minor damage to some pieces and chips to paint but nothing a little common sense cant fix if desired (smidgen of caulk/filler or dab of paint). If someone planned to keep this for years I strongly recommend a quality outdoor chicken-safe paint or sealer to make it last and look good. It'd definitely help prevent water damage and cover minor imperfections. ... show more

Great coop, just stinks when you first get it!

Loving this coop so far! Easy to put together and very spacious. I have 4 hens and the coop could hold maybe 2-3 more comfortably. I also added an additional higher roost bar. My only WARNING is that you must air the coop out for at least 36 hours. It stinks bad and would absolutely asphyxiate your chickens. Also make sure you put it together in a well ventilated space!! Edit - 1 year later, It's falling apart. The rear door is tweaked and doesn't close easy, one of the nesting box lids feel off the hinge/wood deteriorated away. I have it under a tarp roof too, so it doesn't really even get wet. The birds never use the nesting boxes. i have to hunt for eggs all the time. The sliding door is non-standard size which makes putting an automatic door on it hard. I had to build a frame to bolt it to. I have 5 chickens, 6 would push the limits. 90% of the time, except in extreme cold, they prefer to sleep on the roof of it instead of inside it. Planning to build one myself in the spring. So far so good. pretty easy to put together. The material is thin as i expected it to be. don't run this without it being inside something else for predators. We put this as the house within the run. The birds enjoy it. they sit on the nest boxes outside sometimes. Roof keeps them dry. They go in by themselves every night. Recommend getting an automatic door to keep them dryer, or close/open it every night. Had a bit of a smell at first, likely the paint, but it aired off now. ... show more

I took my time and put this together by myself. Including breaks and distractions a total of almost 4 hrs. I love it and my ducks love it! I'm sure it will need maintenance to make it last our harsh seasons in SW Missouri, but all in all this is a fantastic set up for a beginner duck keeper like me! I should add that 2 boxes arrived very quickly and when I eagerly unpacked and realized there was too much missing and there must be a 3rd box, both Amazon and the company's customer service were very helpful in confirming there will be a 3rd box and that FedEx would show delivered only after it arrived. That was only 2 more days. I imagine FedEx just missed it and it needed to be routed back to me. ... show more
