  • Great charger that is perfect for our needs
Size: 40 Amp
This battery charger was a gift got my husband. He was thrilled to get it. He immediately unboxed it and set it up in our garage and hooked it up to a battery. He stated that he has owned many battery chargers but this was by far the best one he has ever owned. He likes all the options this charger has. He has used this charger every day since I have given it to him, Pros: it is small and compact which makes it easy for us to put under our work bench. It is surfy yet small making it easy to bring out to other areas in our large yard for use, it hs a retractable handle making it easy to pull where it needs to go and then safely put it away when done with use. It has numerous options for charging such as slow trickle and fast charge. You can also test your alternator. It is a great value for the money. Cons: I have no cons to report. Overall, this charger is great for our needs and was a great value for the money paid. I highly recommend this Dewalt charger. ... show more

  • Charger won't charge any battery. Always an error message.
Size: 40 Amp
Worst thing I have bought. Every battery that I hooked it to, even ones in my cars that I know or good it would display an error message. Do not waste your money on this item. Very disappointed for it being well known name brand. Too bad it's past my return window.

  • Pure junk
Size: 40 Amp
Charged is worthless, will not charge. When you push charge button goes into recondition mode forever, leave it on all night and in the morning battery is still dead.

  • Not Cheap, But Not Cheaply Made, Good Choice for Jump Starts and Quick Charges
Size: 40 Amp
Upfront: this takes up some floor space, and it is not light. But you don't get this capability out of a small lightweight box, so those are not true complaints. Just advice to think about. It is built solid, rolls around easy, extendable handle makes it even easier put collapses out of the way when not needed. Packs a decent 200A engine start capability, which is good for typical passenger cars. Might not work with large high compression or diesel engines that require a lot to crank over. 40A charging should bring up a weak battery pretty quick compared to the 3A/5A/10A/20A small ones. Built in alternator testing is a nice bonus feature. Pulse desulfanation is nice, but getting to be a standard feature on any decent automotive battery charger delivering an amp or more. Mighty big box to use for a 3A trickle, so probably the least useful feature unless you have a large shop, and like rotating this from car to car daily if they are sitting for a while waiting on parts and service. Otherwise, a small charger will do that and sit under the hood out of the way. One thing to note: find for Flooded, AGM, and Gel batteries, but apparently NOT for LiFePO4. So think twice before using on those. They are a bit finicky about proper charging profile and voltage. I'd say don't gamble using with that type if you encounter one. Not worth messing up an expensive battery, or starting a toxic fire. Consider all these features, good and bad, then if its still what fits your use, it appears to be a well made product. Might be some out there for less money, and this was made in China, not US, so don't balk at other brands also from China. Just things to consider, and battery type limitations, footprint, and especially cost are why I docked it one star. ... show more
