This comes mostly charged out of the box. You may want to complete charging it after you get it. Not designed to be left plugged in, so you'll need to set an alarm to unplug it. I haven't tried the jump starter feature yet, but the cables seem kinda short. I have used the air compressor to top off my car tires. The pressure gauge is NOT accurate, so you'll still need to have a pressure gauge handy. It was off by 5psi. As can be expected in a portable battery, it's a bit heavy, but the handle is comfortable to carry it with. Update 3/14/2022 I finally got to use the jump start feature. It was extremely easy to connect, turn on, and start. The cables are not very long, maybe 1 foot, so it needs to stay near the battery. All in all, I have no complaints over the jump start feature.

I really like this jump start kit. This is my second. I had one for about two years. Recently with a quote old model stopped working I ordered another of these. I really like how the jumper cables store flush against the sides. I like the cover over the switches to prevent accidental operation of light etc that could run batter down. We use these alot with airing lawn tractor tires, camping and many other uses. They make a great power bank for emergencies to charge phone or power Internet router and laptop.
