This thing in incredible. I haven't' had to use it in an emergency situation yet but the lights (white flash light, and red flashing safety light) are super nice features. The air compressor I use a ton though and it works great. For my car tires it can do about 1 psi per sound which was shockingly quick and is way easier than using a normal compressor because you simply tell it what psi to stop inflating at. I wanted to see how long a charge lasted before writing this review. I charged this thing when I first got it last Thanksgiving and it lasted over 10 months before I had to charge it again (which I am doing now). I have used it to jump a 4 cylinder engine several dozen times (I have a work vehicle that often discharges its battery overnight due to aftermarket equipment), to jump start my riding mower three times, and to inflate several balls and at least three tires. That is WAY longer than I needed or expected one charge to last, especially with pretty regular use. Also, it is super safe. In my experience, it WILL NOT create a spark, and will not apply power until properly connected. It is much smaller, less expensive, and easier to use than the briefcase-sized one that I used to have. The buttons aren't really intuitive, but instructions are written on the side of the unit, so its pretty much fool-proof. I highly, HIGHLY recommend the 2500A VTOMAN. If you have a big gigantic diesel truck, then you may need one of the larger models, which I haven't used, but this 2500A unit will work for most any car, truck, or SUV. ... show more

So I just used this booster for the first time today. A couple of our motorcycles are tough to start this time of year and need assistance. First bike, dead. Hooked up the booster and immediately noticed minor inconvenience #1, it's big. Then minor inconvenience #2, the big 'ol plug gets in the way. Lastly, minor inconvenience #3, the cables are juat a little short. Seriously, another 2"-3" is all it needs but I was able to balance it just right on the footboard. BUT. That battery went from no crank to ALL THE CRANKS! Man, that sucker fired right up! Next bike is my problem child when starting in the winter. After cranking for 3-4 seconds it went into safety mode. Give it a couple seconds and it's good to go again. After the 3rd or 4th time of this the light flashed red/green. I unhooked the negative and unplugged from the unit, plugged back in and it's ready to go. Overall it did great. I really like that the teeth on the clamps is close to the edge so it makes it easy to get into tight spaces. Also, it drained the unit down to half BUT with all the cranking I had to do to start the second bike, I'd say half isn't bad. If I ever have to boost something larger I'll be sure to update this post. Update: mid 80's Ford V-8 cargo van, completely dead. Not even a click on the starter. Hooked up the booster pack and it cranked like it had a brand new battery. Imagine you put a battery on a trickle charger over night, it's at 100% but just to be on the safe side you pull out one of those 120v boosers on wheels and hook that up too. I tell you that sucker fired up instantly. ... show more
