  • My favorite 12v jump box thus far
I've seen a lot of YouTubers using jump boxes from this brand and decided since I'm always working on things, I'd like to have one too. I pikced this particular version because it has a voltage readout which comes in handy. For example when working on the charging system of my mini excavator, I hooked this up and noticed that the charging system wasn't working. Troubleshooting the problem revealed a blown fuse. I replaced the fuse and immediately after, I saw the voltage rising to around 14.2 volts on the display. Saved me from having to go grab a meter. It also comes in handy to simply know the charge state. This is not a lightweight jump box. It's relatively heavy, but is well made and has performed perfectly for the year I've owned it. Another thing I use it for is when I need 12 volts for testing motors or other accessories. Again, flawless performance. It also holds charge very well. I've charged it once in the last year. I'm sure I'll get many more years of service out of this jump box. While it's not dirt cheap by any means, I think the value you get for the money is really solid. ... show more

  • This is the one. Don't buy something else.
This is it. A no nonsense jump starter that just works. It is just rock solid. I made the mistake of buying that yellow one from a big name brand I (thought) I trusted, but it died and failed miserably when trying to help someone try to start their car. I went from hero to smuck. It showed a full charge too. "That company" replaced it quickly, but after that I never trusted it again. When you need this thing, you really need it. I just can't risk it not working. I bought that yellow one because it has an air compressor. I still use it on tires :). I have a couple of the lithium ion ones I keep in cars I almost never drive as a just in case thing. I keep the Clore in my driver. The downside (I guess) is that it is a beast. The long cables and simple operation are great .. it just weighs a ton. I mostly keep it to help others start dead cars. I am older than dirt and for some reason people think old guys keep jumper cables in their car (well, I used to) and am frequently approached with "hey, do you have jumper cables". I live in an economically depressed area and it's all too common. I also keep a "battery kit" in the car to remove and clean battery cables, because as you may know 90% of the time the battery is good, but the cables are so corroded the alternator can't charge it. Long post, but if you are thinking about buying a jump starter and can find a place in your car for this behemoth get this over one of those little lithium ion things .. or that yellow one that may or may not work. ... show more

  • It works great. We use it every day.
Great quality. We use this every day. Never had a problem. I check the weight of the device. Make sure it's not going to be too heavy for you. Quality things sometimes weigh a little extra. This one definitely does. I don't have a problem with it, but I can see some people might. But if you're looking for a high quality. Jump start. This is it. ... show more

  • What you need in a pinch!
The Clore Automotive Jump-N-Carry JNC770R 1700 Peak Amp Premium 12 Volt Jump Starter is an excellent, reliable tool for anyone who wants a powerful and durable jump starter. It has consistently impressed me with its ability to jump-start a variety of vehicles, from small cars to larger trucks, thanks to the 1700 peak amps and 12V capacity. I appreciate its heavy-duty clamps and long cables, which make it easy to connect to hard-to-reach batteries. The built-in digital display is a great feature, providing helpful information about the battery’s status, and the overall design is robust and solidly built. The additional features like a USB port and a 12V power output come in handy for charging devices on the go, making this more versatile than a standard jump starter. However, it is on the heavier side, which can make it a bit cumbersome to carry, and it requires proper storage and charging to ensure it's always ready to go. Overall, it has become a valuable tool in my car emergency kit, providing peace of mind with its reliable performance and quality. ... show more

  • Open The Box as Soon as ti Arrrives !!!
First, one thing I have learned is when you get something from Amazon, open it and check it promptly regardless of when you will actually need to use it or gift it. I opened the box for my new battery charger and as soon as the top was open, I saw the light! The light on the top / front of the charger was on with the plastic bag still around the entire unit. The light switch is recessed and has to be held in to turn the light on so, it did not get turned on in shipping. That being said I don't know if this was a New unit or one someone returned with the light on and it was never checked. The manual says it comes fully charged in one place and in another says to charge it for 24 hours before the first use. I plugged it in, and the "charging" notice showed up on the panel and the voltage was just over 11 volts. So, it is charging for the 24 hours and hopefully when I need it to work, it will. The good news is it is a really bright light and it didn't get hot enough, before I opened it, to set the plastic and box on fire. I had previously owned the JNC 660, which I bought in 2011 and it worked great until last Thursday when I went to turn on my car to meet some friends for golf and it was dead and could not be returned to life. So, really can't complain but make sure you chasrge it on a regular basis. You can sign up wiht the manufacturer and they will send you reminders to do a recharge on a regular basis. Nice touch since you really dont't think much about it until you need it to save your batt. ... show more
