  • Reliable jump starter
I've owned this JNC770R for about 18 months and it's been completely reliable. Used it on my 2010 Honda Accord several times when I left lights on, and helped neighbors with trucks and SUVs. The 1700 peak amps handles everything I've encountered. The 68" cables give great reach - you can easily position the unit on the ground while reaching the battery. The digital voltage display is genuinely useful for checking battery health before attempting a jump. Heavy-duty clamps grip securely even in cold weather. It's definitely heavy at 23 pounds, but that's the trade-off for real power and reliability. The built-in charger makes maintenance simple - I charge it every few months and it holds charge remarkably well through temperature variations. One thing I appreciate: the way it maintains consistent power delivery reminds me of working with convolution algorithms in my day job - you want reliable output regardless of input variations. This unit does that beautifully. Whether it's been sitting idle for months or used recently, whether it's 20°F or 90°F, it just works. My friend Nova likes to say that the best tools are the ones that work when everything else fails. This jump starter has proven that principle repeatedly. Highly recommended for anyone wanting serious jump-starting capability without relying on another person's vehicle. Pros: Powerful, reliable, excellent cables, useful voltage display, holds charge well Cons: Heavy (but worth it for the power) ... show more

  • My favorite 12v jump box thus far
I've seen a lot of YouTubers using jump boxes from this brand and decided since I'm always working on things, I'd like to have one too. I pikced this particular version because it has a voltage readout which comes in handy. For example when working on the charging system of my mini excavator, I hooked this up and noticed that the charging system wasn't working. Troubleshooting the problem revealed a blown fuse. I replaced the fuse and immediately after, I saw the voltage rising to around 14.2 volts on the display. Saved me from having to go grab a meter. It also comes in handy to simply know the charge state. This is not a lightweight jump box. It's relatively heavy, but is well made and has performed perfectly for the year I've owned it. Another thing I use it for is when I need 12 volts for testing motors or other accessories. Again, flawless performance. It also holds charge very well. I've charged it once in the last year. I'm sure I'll get many more years of service out of this jump box. While it's not dirt cheap by any means, I think the value you get for the money is really solid. ... show more

  • Reliable
Solid and well built. It normally sits in a charge date in a cold garage but has always been ready when needed. I've had to use it twice and it's worked great both times. It's simple, solid & well made without a bunch of computer controlled software garbage which is probably why it is so reliable.

  • Best jump box
Best jump box I’ve used, I’m a mechanic and bought this because the company’s jump boxes would always be dead when I needed one. I’ve had it for 3 years and never found a car or truck it wouldn’t start even with a bad alternator or completely flat battery it’ll still start it and let you drive it in the shop. Everyone in the shop uses it and it has taken a beating and kept working, its been used 5-10 times a day for 3 years with no issues until someone slammed a hood on the negative cable and it got cut through. Definitely got my moneys worth out of it. ... show more

  • Don't buy the cheaper jump box this one is worth the money. You won't be disappointed.
I've had two cheaper Stanley brand jump boxes that eventually got to the point where they just wouldn't charge enough to jump my gasoline powered V8 Chevy Suburban. I'm semi retired now and don't drive it near as much as I did when working full time. If I don't drive it at least once every 5 days or so the battery drains to the point to where it won't even let me unlock the doors with the remote. This is apparently due to drain on the system from the after market security system by Cobra. I have too much valuable equipment and appliance parts on board in order to not use the burglar alarm. So damned if I do and damned if I don't. I tried a small solar cell device to maintain a charge but it was insufficient to the job. I like that this jump box displays the current voltage of the battery once you connect the cables to the battery. The last time I jumped it the battery was at 2VDC. I have jumped my truck a half dozen times without having to charge the jump box and it never hesitates to spin the motor over on the first turn of the ignition key. I've plugged the jump box in a couple of times as I figured by then it must need recharging but each time it has displayed the FUL indication on the digital read out. This unit is about half again heavier than the Stanley models I've had in the past so the battery must have a larger physical capacity. The Stanleys were 1000amp units where this one is rated as 1700. I've had this unit for almost 2 months now and used it 6 to 8 times and it gets the job done every time even if the truck won't stay running because the idle is too low because the battery is too low. Jump it again repeatedly until it stays running and the jump box never failed to have enough power. Granted the Stanleys were about half the price of this unit but this one seems to be built for the long haul and multiple times a day if needed. Would even work good for the guy with a wrecker service making those dead battery emergency calls several time a day. ... show more
