So far I’ve used this charger 3 times with my Traxxas 10,000 mah 2s LIPO battery that I use for my Stampede 4x4 VXL. It’s worked as expected and has done a great job charging the battery quickly and efficiently. First thing I had to do with the charger out of the box was change it to LIPO mode by plugging in the battery and pressing the selector button until the LED light turned from red to green. I left all the other settings alone and haven’t tried them yet such as the quick charge and storage setting. Then to charge the battery I simply press the illuminated blue Start button for a couple of seconds and the LED lights on the unit change to indicate charging has started. Even after I ran my RC until the the low voltage shut off kicked in and couldn’t drive anymore it took about a little over an hour to fully charge the battery. After fully charged my battery gives me a good solid 45 minutes if not more of nearly continuous run time. That was at a nearby flat grassy park and with the original pinion gear installed. When charging I can hear the fan inside running and can definitely smell the electronics working. So it’s best to charge in a well ventilated area. I also keep my battery sitting inside my Colcase explosion proof bag while charging or not in use. While charging though the battery cables are too short to allow the bag to stand up straight but good thing it has dual zippers so I just zip it with the battery cables sticking out the front and plugged into the charger. Another thing I have to mention is a couple of times when I connected the battery to the charger the charger’s red light would blink and I thought my battery was bad or the charger was broken. Not at all. I just unplugged the battery and plugged it back in. The connection was just a bit loose as I didn’t plug it in snug enough. Now I know to make sure it’s snug every time. That’s about it. Although it’s a pricey charger I think it’s well worth it to get a full charge out of my battery in a short amount of time. Plus the unit is small enough that I can toss it in my power screwdriver carrying bag for storage or to take with me when going out. I’d definitely recommend this one. ... show more

This was a necessary purchase since the RC car only comes with a car outlet charger. So far, this charger has worked well enough. I still haven't been able to quite figure out how to charge at a rate other than 1 amp or 4 amps. But the 1 amp setting is fast enough that it isn't a big deal. It definitely has a fan running in it but it hasn't sounded mistakable for a jet engine yet. ... show more

Decent product. Smells of plastic while it's charging the battery but no fire (yet). Charges a lot quicker than the wall/cigarette lighter -weird, stupid connector thing I got with my Traxxas. Also tells you if the battery is bad by beeping and giving it a level 3, meaning it won't charge. Keep your batteries charged monthly if you purchased Traxxas branded batteries. They don't tell you that they die pretty quickly and won't charge if you don't keep them on the charger once a month. I went about 6 months of not using it (it was fully charged) and it's now dead. I saw the reviews and was a little worried by it but I went ahead and got it, so far I've gotten 15+ charges off it without the fan issue that seems to be happening. The main reason that I think that it has lasted this long is because I treat the thing like a baby, I don't drop it/ bump it into things. I would give it five stars but I don't know how long it will last until the fan get knocked out of alinement and starts making that noise(again from dropping/bumping it) but as if right now it is a fast charger and works very well it you treat it right. (EDIT)-8/2/17 After tracking 90 charges with it this thing is amazing, no fan issue here. Don't listen to all the other reviews go ahead and get it if you are looking at it, but again treat it with care and you won't have a single issue. ... show more
