Of all the hearing "aids" that I've tried, these are far better than any other cheap hearing amplifiers and work as well as several real (supposedly) hearing aids costing $1,500! There is NO reduction in background sounds.The charging compartment can charge the hearing aid 4-5 times after it is fully charged. It is also small and easy to put in your pocket.Overall, 5 stars. Worth the price!

These hearing aids look more like the latest earbuds. These have no fancy features. Open the case, pull them out, put them in your ears, and go. Once you take them out of the case they'll turn on in 10 seconds, so put them in quickly. If you cover the microphone on the outside with your finger, they'll screech really loudly. I wonder if this is something they could have reduced or gotten rid of via software. You must tap them to change the volume which is problematic because sometimes your finger will cover the outside microphone and cause the screeching noise. My pair produces a constant background noise, similar to a static. Both of them do this. I'm not sure if they're defective or if that's a normal part of the sound amplification process. It's not a big deal, you end up getting used to it. I would have loved a smartphone app with these to make adjustments but for the price, I get it. If you just need hearing aids at a reasonable price without anything fancy, these will do the trick.
