I live in Texas. I purchased these shade sails to put over my RV to help cool it down this summer. The front wall is aluminum and the temps outside were hitting 108°. My front wall had been averaging 140° during the day. My utilities have been costly. With a little creativity and some ratchet straps I placed one shade sail so it would keep shade over half of my roof and over my West facing wall for as long as possible during the day. I placed another one hanging off of my awning down to the ground to block the setting sun. I could feel the difference every time I stepped outside. My AC started a little later in the day, too. I couldn't secure it as tightly as I would like to have. My anchors were tree branches and heavy items on the ground. I couldn't get it tight. I'm disabled and I don't have a lot of strength. The wind picks it up in the air when it's gusty out. It scared me at first, but it didn't tear, it just floats up and down. It didn't tear anything up. My front porch is bearable with these shade sails. Without them I couldn't touch the wood with my bare feet in the Texas heat. Now, my big front windows stay in shade the majority of the day. It helps keep my RV cooler. Any time I go outside I walk under the shade as far as I can. The difference is very noticeable. I may put one up for my car next summer. Since I couldn't get under shade trees this was a great solution. When it gets into the 70's I will fold them up and stow them for next year. I'm sure they will handle another summer for me. Maybe next year I can set some posts in the ground for anchors instead of using plant stands and pine trees. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Before the front part of the house had Sun all-day and living in Az our summers are brutal. now by 10am we have full shade it has also helped keep the inside of the house cooler no more Sun beaming through the Windows all day. material is great product all around is great. very happy with it . It took 13 days to arrive. Putting our project on hold. Only shipped on the 1st delivery date. The box was pretty beat up. Luckily the sail was not damaged. Even with no additional inner packing. Blue is bright blue almost like a tarp blue. Not satisfied. Sending back and buying from Lowes
