  • Great value for a sturdy weight bench - up to 350 pounds.
I was a bit concerned with this purchase, as others have noted missing pieces, a wobbly product, and a number of other issues. Mine had no such issues. The assembly instructions are very vague and did require a fair amount of scrutiny to get the correct screws where they go, but once I did, this thing feels very solid. My primary concern with buying a low-end bench was the distance between the uprights. This one is exactly 24" between the poles, meaning you must grip the bar at that distance to do presses. I thought that seemed terribly low, but measuring the distance between my hands with a tape measure (before purchase) it didn't seem like it would be that uncomfortable. After assembling it and putting it to use, I'd think it could use an extra couple of inches there, but it feels fairly natural to do presses at that width -for a man who is 5'10" and 180ish pounds. The safety rests are a nice feature if you typically lift alone, however they seem to be spaced oddly for such use. I can use them, but it requires either sitting the bar about an inch above my chest or pressing it 85% of the way back to the top. I hope I'm never in a position that I can't lift it off my chest at all or that I give up that close to the top. Obviously this would vary if you used it at an incline. Overall, this bench deserves five stars. It's a great value, and feels very sturdy when assembled. The weight limit for the bench is listed at 350 pounds (including you and what you're lifting) and under that load, it feels very stable. I can't yet speak for the durability of the unit, but there aren't a great many pieces that could fail. If you're looking for a bench for casual lifting (or, like me, you can't do push-ups anymore because your age has made the pain in your shoulders, wrists, and elbows unbearable when you do) this is a great bench. Having said that, the specific design of the support between the bench and uprights makes me think that you don't want to exceed the manufacturer's specification by much. If you're a heavier person, or plan to do some serious weight training, you might want to look at one in a higher price bracket. ... show more

  • Good Home Workout Bench
Perfect for what I needed, light home use a couple times a week. Super easy assembly in about 15 minutes. 6mm allen wrench included. All you need is an adjustable wrench, a screwdriver, and some common sense. I used a 1/2" and 17mm end wrench/socket made it even easier. Once I got everything tight the bench is very steady. The edge of the seat was damaged, but I repaired it myself. For the sale price this was a great deal. Very pleased. ... show more

  • Small bench
Decent bench. Nice looks. But the cushion is to wide. The leg extension struggles to hold 60lb on it. And the bar tbat is on there is a 6 ft bar so the bench is pretty small. It has nothing to hold the bar on there once you put weights in one side. You have to slide the bar all the way over so it doesn’t fall off the top. Decent bench for price just small for the weight I life. I wouldn’t recommend for heavy lifters. ... show more

  • Low weight capacity, but good bench for the money
The max weight for this bench is 350 pounds. That's you and the weights. But it's still a great small bench to get started with, and frankly cheap enough that when you grow out of it you could feel good even giving it to someone else so they can get started as well. It goes together easy. I'm not small, and I thought it felt pretty stable using it with a 5' bar and keeping it in overall weight spec. I do think it's not one to push far outside the weight limits though. So long as you know what you're getting you'll be happy with what you get! ... show more

  • Works
Got this on a sale. Great value for 70 bucks. Good for what I use it for: general fitness and resistance training. Not a big bench, pretty small. Is designed to work with 5 ft bars. Tested with a 4 ft ez curl bar and it works too, not the most comfortable but it works. Doesn’t look like it would be great for serious or intermediate lifters but it should be fine for what I plan to use it for. Decent enough for beginners and people that are not looking to go heavy. Pros: relatively cheap. Pretty stable. Comfortable enough. Simple design. Can bench with it. All told, a budget set up that provides value for newbies that just want something simple. Cons: weight limit of the rack is listed as 150 lbs and bench is listed at 350 with the leg extension listed at 50lb limit. So if you are a big person looking for something to use at home, not the best option. Hard to assemble because you need outside tools. ... show more

  • Avoid the same mistakes I made.
Read! This seems like a good deal and the reviews are somewhat positive but beware. I am 5'6 and have been lifting for some time. There are many reasons why you should beware of this bench and why I gave it 1 star. 1. Bench is not stable. Even after checking all connections and bolts for tightness this bench still would rock forward and back. Side to side it is good. But this bench will rock forward and backward when moving into position. 2. The location of the bar supports. These couldn't be worse. If you are my height it seems they are perfectly in the way. If your taller maybe this wouldn't be a problem but for me it was. All in all you get what you pay for. This bench is not designed to support even moderate lifters. This is something you might buy your kid who is 14 and just starting to lift maybe. Cap usually makes good stuff but avoid this product. Spend a little more money and get something better. Nothing worse then feeling wobbly while lifting a bar over your throat. ... show more

  • Unstable unit
This is a nice bench, except for one flaw. The feet are completely insufficient in size making the entire unit very unstable and wobbly during use. And I am not a very large person. Such a bummer.
