I had originally bought a stand from Lowes, (but 40lbs) same concept (concrete base/etc.) it "cracked" on the first day of use. Found this one on Amazon for cheaper! And it's 50lb. So far so good, looks well made and nice that it has a cover on the bottom so the concrete powder doesn't get everywhere. ALSO, I was a little hesitant to buy this because it looks super duper glossy-gloss black in the pictures, however IRL, it's just a regular black, not glossy looking. That was a nice surprise. I chose this because I like a minimal look without some weird design. It does what it’s supposed to and has lasted me a long time. If it ever needs a touch up you can just spray paint it.

As in other reviews, the post is very wobbly, like the threads don't match up or are stripped out, even after tightening all the way as much as possible. After a few moments in the breeze the post wobbles and you have to re-tighten again. Gorilla glue works wonders though on this issue.

Love this base for our patio umbrella. Sturdy base and easy to assemble. Great value for the money as bases and umbrellas can be expensive. Decent umbrella stand but it doesn’t last. 14 Months of consistent use and the pole piece which connects to the base no longer tightens at all. The grooves of the bolt are completely smooth. Will go with another option this time.
