This is a very attractive, heavy umbrella stand. Unfortunately, the base breaks very easily. The first stand we received broke within a few days. We returned it for a refund and ordered a replacement. The replacement also broke within a couple of months, but we thought that we could glue it. The base completely broke into 4 pieces - now unglueable - in less than a year. If you live in an area that receives any wind - even light winds - do NOT buy this for a free-standing umbrella.
