It will provide baby chicks with the perfect environment for growth, a comfortable and warm feeling like from mother hens. Please pay attention that the actual teperature depends on the environment.
  • ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT & ANGLE: The heat plate for chicks coming with 4 adjustable legs. You can adjust the height from 2.56" to 7.09" according to little chicken's height. The legs can also be adjusted to different heights and angles from each other to let different chicks find the most comfortably warming position for themselves.
  • PREMIUM MATERIAL & EASY TO CLEAN: The chicken brooder heater adopts premium material, which makes it easy to wipe and clean if your chicks jump on the brooder heater plate and poop there. Tips: Cleaning up the coop heater in time is beneficial to chicken's health and growth.
  • ENERGY SAVING & SAFE TO USE: The power of the chicken heat plate is only 20 watts and is designed with over temperature protection, which makes it minimize power consumption, become more efficient and safer to use, with no risk of fire and giving your chicken uniform temperature heating experience.
  • QUICK ASSEMBLY & WIDLY USED: The brooder heater is very simple to install. Push the green button at the back of the panel, insert the four legs and then release. • A sturdy heater that works well, has good features for safety and cleanliness
Size: 10*12in
I won't have a chance to use this with actual chicks until a little later this spring, but it looks like it would be a fantastic addition to anyone's farm or backyard chicken-raising projects. We have generally raised several dozen (or even hundreds) of chicks and ducklings each year, and we have always used heating lamps to keep them warm the first few weeks. Using heating lamps has ALWAYS made me a bit nervous, knowing the risks that come with using them. Having a heating plate (or brooder plate) has always been something I've wanted to try, and this one seems like it will be excellent quality, with a few very nice features. The plastic components seem durable and easy to clean (a HUGE plus with messy baby birds). The legs are extremely easy to snap into place, and I love that they are adjustable, so the brooder plate can grow with the chicks. I plugged the unit in, and it gets warm fairly quickly. The top of the plate stayed cool the entire time, while the bottom was warm. This indicates to me that it is extremely energy efficient--the heat is NOT escaping out the top of the warmer. Also, having the top of the warmer cool means that chicks will be less inclined to jump on top of it. I tried adjusting the legs so that the front legs were slightly lower than the back legs, thinking that having the unit slanted would also prevent chicks from wanting to stay on it (if it's uncomfortable for them, they will jump off again). It does seem that one could use the unit this way--it would be trial and error to see whether it prevented chicks from trying to roost on top of it. I added a couple of comparison items in photos to show how large it is. Just from my visualizing of it, I believe that at least 20 very small chicks could easily fit under the heater comfortably. Time will tell how long everything will hold up, but it does seem like a sturdy and well-made item. I expect anyone would get great long-term use out of this. ... show more

  • This unit is slightly larger than the norm and a few more watts of power.
Size: 10*12in
A lot of these brooder plates are only 15 watts, this one is 20. The plate is also a bit larger, so can accommodate a few more chicks than the 10x10 size. As with all of these give it about a half hour to heat up, before adding chicks. Adjust the legs as needed to adjust the temperature. Quiet chicks are happy chicks, so if they are peeping loudly, they are cold, hungry or thirsty. Keep in mind, if your ambient temp outside of the brooder is too cold, the brooder will have a tough time putting out enough heat. Again the chicks will tell you how comfortable they are or are not. ... show more

  • It takes the place of the mother hen!
Size: 10*12in
I've never had one of these heat plates, but I've been hatching chicks for many years. Initially, it looks like it is cheaply made (if you aren't holding it), but it is solid! The size is great for a few chicks, but I'm not sure I'll be able to use it with my 20+ numbers unless maybe we had a different brooder set up. The cost savings in place of the 250 watt heat lamps will be a game changer, I think!!! I will update when we have chicks actually hatch in a couple of weeks and update if there is anything amazing or terrible. ... show more

  • Chicks are much happier under this heating plate.
Size: 10*12in
This heating plate brooder is much better for our chicks health than the old way of providing a 250 Watt heating lamp. The chicks get to experience warmth and darkness like being under their mother. They can sleep through the night without a bright light on them. The chicks will tell you the correct height adjustment by their actions. If they are cuddled together they are too cold and you need to lower the heating plate. If they are spaced out they are too hot and you need to raise the heating plate. The brooder plate moves up and down easily on the legs. As the chicks grow you move the heating plate up a notch or two. The brooder plate keeps a constant even temperature and the plastic parts are well made and easy to clean. ... show more

  • Not sturdy
Size: 10*12in

  • Easy to use
Size: 10*12in
Clip in the legs, and you are set to go, well, you have adjust the height of the legs. It is that simple to set up and use these brooder heaters. Keep away from cold drafts!

  • Will be very useful this spring!
Size: 10*12in
From initial tests (Without chicks) the device seemed to work perfectly. It warmed up nicely and felt sturdy enough to make changes in its height without breaking it. A great value for the money! I'll update this review once i have some chicks under it!
