    • Perfect for the "old" model of the PB4-60q pump.
This is exactly what you'd expect. I know there have been complaints about the price (and rightly so), particularly since it does not include the o-ring. However, the part number of P82 refers only to the volute in the Zodiac/Polaris exploded diagrams. The O-ring is part number P85, and Zodiac/Polaris does not sell a "kit". The reference to O-ring in the product description refers the fact that the drain plug and o-ring is included. Just another thought.... this pump is discontinued I suspect because the plastic weakens in the sun, and the long tube where the polaris hoses connect is a weak point and will crack if stressed even a little after 4-5 years in the sun. But the pump itself is a champ, and it's worth fixing. ... show more

    • Be Sure to Get the Right One !
Over the years the P82 Volute was redesigned several times but part number stayed the same. Depending on the age of your booster pump there are at least 3 different types that are not interchangeable. This one is 9" in diameter and the discharge port has a 3.5" offset from the centerline.

Afyer 20 years, the old volute develpped a circumferential crack about 3" long.... crazy of water loss when running. Unit was ina covered poll house, but 20 years is a stretch. Just reused the old o ring (had purchased a rebuild kit, with an oring, but figured Id save it if the old oring worked) Cleaned it off, heavy lube- worked it into place. Initially many O rings can stretch and appear loose, but by compressing it around and 'working' it into the slot, you can get it to fit. (Not just this situation, but many...) ... show more

    • No O-Ring comes with it!!!!
The part itself is an exact replacement. However, there is NO O-RING included, despite the item listing stating that it does!!!! Now, I have to spend another 2-3 days waiting for an o-ring to come in that I had to purchase separately, because the original o-ring was stretched out slightly, as I tried to clean the old silicone off of it. But, the Volute was an exact replacement. So, at least the pump isn’t gushing water out of a crack in the Volute anymore; only small drips now, as I await the new o-ring. ... show more

    • Perfect replacement with installation instructions
Perfect replacement for your older pool cleaner pump. Just a head's up - it DOES NOT come with the o ring (not sure why it's described with one). To anyone purchasing and installing this - when you are installing it put a nice bead of silicone RTV sealant on the flat surface of the volute. Clamp it down tight and you shouldn't have any issues with leaks, new o ring or old. ... show more
