Umbrella is well made and sturdy! Worth the money! I also ordered the weighted base. When ordering online, I am not just concerned about the quality of the product but more importantly the quality of the customer service. For instance when we received the shipment of the umbrella, the delivery service had ripped open the box in transit and the canopy had a cut in it about 2 inches long and the support post scratched in multiple places. I contacted BLUU immediately and sent pictures to report the issue. Anna was very responsive, very helpful and very prompt with replacing the canopy, the support post, and a small refund for our inconvenience due to the fact that the original was not in perfect condition when received even though the delivery service was the reason for the issue. I cannot say enough how great this company was in helping me with this replacement and very communicative. I will be buying more outdoor patio products from this company in the future. ... show more

The product arrived in a box that was mangled. There was a dent in the pole, but, the main problem is that there were no tools, handles, parts to put together in the box. I've reached out to the manufacturer with no response as of yet. If these issues are remedied, I will upgrade my review if warranted. ***Update: I got a response from this seller and their customer service team has been very responsive and accomodating. They forwarded the missing parts and refunded half the purchase price. I haven't had a chance to get the umbrella put together yet. Once it is assembled and working I may update this review further. In a world where it seems that there is very little to no customer service, Bluu went above and beyond to make us happy.....It made me look at their other items for our pool. High quality, easy to assemble, and far exceeded my expectations. I also bought the base kit separately and I would highly recommend that also because it makes it much more sturdy. We bought this as a replacement for a much more expensive umbrella that fell apart after 11 years of use, and this one is not nearly as heavy, but it is well-egineered, high quality, and sturdy. My bf researched so many umbrellas and his search ended with this one. He refused to let me buy any other umbrella as this one has the best reviews for its sturdiness… the reviews were right so far. We’ve had a string of bad storms (trees uprooted and knocked down, random tornadoes, very strong winds, heavy rains) and we accidentally forgot to close the umbrella before one or two of these storms. It took awhile to find an umbrella that we really liked, so we bought this one based on lots of research and the great reviews .. It is definitely built sturdy and looks great …. Assembly can be awkward. The product comes in basically three pieces--two cross pieces for the base, a vertical piece which the two cross pieces bolt to and the umbrella assembly itself. You have two choices; assemble the base, lift the umbrella then drop it into the base or lay the umbrella on its side (maybe sawhorses) and assemble the base to the umbrella then lift the whole thing vertical. I chose the lift and drop method but it was VERY awkward for one older person because the umbrella itself is top heavy. I did get it together then found that the piece that covers the connection point was on upside down (third photo) which covered one of the bolt holes. Had to lift out, flip the cover and reinsert. At that point I should have gone to the horizontal insert method but was too stubborn. The first photo shows the weighted base I bought--the amazon version. Easy to fill with water and seem heavy enough for our winds here in the mountains. However, the base crosspieces do come with predrilled holes (photo 4) on both sides of the cross brace and on the top---the top one for a carriage bolt and the side ones for screws I guess. If you know the unit will stay where it is it could be screwed or bolted to the deck or concrete pad. Remove the umbrella in the winter and leave the base installed. I used four carriage bolts to bolt the base to my trex deck. ... show more

When we received our umbrella, there was a small hole in the fabric. I messaged customer service and was dealing with Anna. She was super nice and responded very quick to my messages. They sent us a whole new umbrella because they did not have just the fabric in the color that we wanted. Highly recommend for the customer service and the product.
