They are encased into the spines, covered for protection. They are a nice brightness, but not so bright that it kills the ambiance of night time. More of a soft glow. So far, so good.

It's better built than most patio umbrellas. Nice lights including ring on center post. Nice lighting on umbrella ribs. Looks nicer than most. Only negative is that batteries are stored in sun and will heat up and shorten lifespan.

Beautiful umbrella, love the led lights and materials seem to be very heavy duty. But, we received it last week with missing stitches for the wind flap at the top. I can only give them 3 stars because of this but I’ll repost once we have a resolution. Update: They made everything right and we are very happy with the umbrella. Great quality, I highly recommend this umbrella!

UPDATE: After a second email to them this week with a copy of this review I wrote, their customer service emailed back saying the umbrellas were back in stock and asked for my address to ship it to. Which will be great, once it arrives. When it does, and I know it's working, I'll update this review. ORIGINAL: The umbrella worked fine until it didn't, in 10 short months. I came out one morning and it was cockeyed, as shown in the picture, and was rotating all over the place like a sail when it caught the wind. I tried and a handyman I hired tried to fix it but to no avail. I can't even close it without climbing up on the patio table and having someone else hold the pole straight while I pull the thing to close the umbrella. I wrote to the manufacturer, which on bluu.com says these come with a 1 year warranty, and sent them the picture. I asked how to repair or could they replace it. The response I got said that these were out of stock for 2 months, sorry. I waited 2 months which brings us to May of 2024, and emailed them again. No reply. No phone number anywhere. Very aggravated, this was quite an expense for me.

Responsive, kind seller. Umbrella is great quality. Super simple to assemble, maneuver and adjust. Lights are bright enough to read under at night but not so bright as to feel like you're under a spotlight in the neighborhood. Just as expected!

Well made and looks fantastic. The light bar system is really nice and works great. No wires or cords to worry about. I'm very happy and would recommend to everyone. The lights are not the white (cool) color but a warm, more pleasing warm light. My neighbors use those horrible super bright day time lights outside and in their house... It looks more like a well lit prison yard or something.
