Eliminate the mess caused by decaying leaves each spring. Install a dirt defender leaf net over your winter cover this fall and make spring opening quick and easy. The leaf net's tight mesh traps even the smallest leaves before they reach your winter cover. Other brands of leaf nets have larger mesh that allows small leaves to pass through to your winter cover and decompose in the spring. Simply lay the dirt defender leaf net on top of your winter cover when you close your pool and remove it before the first snow. Your cover will be virtually leaf free and spring clean-up will be a snap. Eliminates that messy swamp of decaying leaves. Dirt defender leaf nets are made from durable woven polyethylene and carry a 4-year warranty. During the winter months, my neighbor's trees lose all their leaves and make a mess in my pool. The leaf net was a great leaf catcher and although it still allows the dirt and smaller leaves in the pool, it was quite useful! It's very light, easy to spread across the pool, weighted down with the water bags, stayed put during the wind, and I was able to take it off the pool without dumping the leaves in to the pool. And I did it by myself, I am a 64 year old woman. Now that all the leaves are off the tree I don't need it anymore, but it's good for next Fall. I bought this for an in ground pool, but did not use it over an existing pool cover. Instead I let it “float on top of the pool and secured it with water tubes along the pool deck. I’m able to skim leaves and trash as needed. It does very well keeping leaves off the bottom of my pool and out of the skimmer. The only concern is with getting the cover ready to deploy it. Even if using it over a cover, you must make sure it doesn’t come in contact with the pool deck (concrete) or it will snag and cause some damage to the mesh! Even so, it meets my needs very well and saves me a lot of trouble keeping the pool clean in the off season. ... show more

Our freeform pool is barely 20 x 25 and the best option was the 18X36. The net is actually 22 x 40 and is huge so it took some creativity to give us deck space. Cutting is not an option as it would just cause problems so we rolled it as close to our shape and used tie wraps at regular intervals. It's not perfect but I was able to pull the cover off fairly easily to clean and add chemicals. It is sturdy enough yet very light to handle. It takes some adjusting to get all the sides settled, but they adjust nicely once the pump is off and the jets aren't directing it. There is a roll that runs under the waterfall and seems to work fine that way. We are divers and had a supply of soft scuba weights that worked perfectly without spending more on water tubes. They are like little bean bags but drain well and the 3 lb weights did the trick. We are in south Florida and only really need this in the early spring when the winds have been howling and leaves are falling faster than we can skim. However, you CAN easily user your pool net and skim gently across the mesh to clean most of the leaves off. Daytime pictures were hard to get a good angle but hopefully the evening picture gives an idea of how it settled in. So far it has worked well and the price couldn't be beat. ... show more

Order arrived ahead of schedule and was as others have said, small netting size with good edging. I was very happy with the quality and wanted to put it to the test. I live in Florida and my pool is exposed to the element, with no screen enclosure. I have just the net over the pool and it has been through 2 pretty strong winter storms so far (in Florida winter storms have high winds and heavy rains), the net did as I expected, no leaves got past the net and into the pool. Our neighbor has an enormous rain tree which sheds a ridiculous amount of leaves this time of year. I bought the net because I would come home to my skimmer being clogged with leaves and my pump struggling to get water flow. Since I added the net I have no problem at all with leaves clogging the skimmer. I feel the net will last several seasons for me, obviously there is no way for me to say how it would perform further north. I would buy this again, if I need to, and do recommend it for those in my similar situation, I now have piece of mind when I leave my home for a few days R & R. You can see by the picture I need to work on a better solution to hold the net in place but I wanted to test it out before I spent a lot of time and money on weights. The picture is after I cleaned 5+ pounds of leaves off from last nights storm (that storm lasted over 20 hours and had 50 mph winds with 4" of rain which overflowed the pool). Our pool is 14' x 35' and we bought the 16' x 32' size since it said it was 4' wider than those dimensions and it fits well, the width is a lot wider than the pool but you can see I just rolled one side up and weighted it down. ... show more

No way was this worth the money! When we opened the package, we found 2 gigantic gashes in the net! The people who came to install it for me were already here when I opened the box, so we had to use the defective net, I could not return. Very disappointed with the quality of this product. If I had had the time, it DEFINITELY would have been returned!!! ... show more

Bought the 20 x 40 net... back in winter of 2020.... We are still using it... Each year, we take the net (that has been semi-sorta .. "folded or thrown into a clump" ... simply stretch back out and put it on the pool. The first year.. we used the "pool tubes (i.e. tubes full of water) .. and placed them so carefully around the pool... Worked flawlessly.... Second year.. just used some fasteners (okay ... others would call these bricks and/or painted 2x4s) .. to hold down the net. In all seriousness.. because the net is large enough to cover the 24" walkway around the pool.. the net fits really well. I would /will certainly buy this net again. Our expectations were, that after 3 years.. probably would have to buy a replacement.... Not true .. now going on our 3rd year... will re-use it again on 4th year (who knows maybe longer). When you consider the cost(s) of nets vs tarps... for us at least.. no brainer. Long story short: works as described and as desired... Will certainly buy again ... show more
