We have a couple of new bike trails and pump tracks in the area and I am the one parent who usually ends up taking all the neighborhood kids.... maybe because I like to ride myself. It has gotton to the point I wasnt able to fit all the bike in the back of my truck. I ended buying the KYX because it seemed like a simple and trustworthy rack to carry my or the kids bike. this bike rack worked like a dream! I could easily place both my bike and my 6 year old sons bike on the rack. the placements are adjustable. my favorite things about the rack is the 2 different pivot point on the rack. For this price point that is extremely rare. I am used to Thule racks and this one holds its ground against those racks. It has been a great rack and I have even had neighbors ask to borrow it.

The forks that hold the bikes bent catastrophically the first week of local driving under 55 mph in town. The bikes were also padlocked and chained together with safety cables which is the only reason my bike did not drop onto the road and cause a major accident. Do not buy this product. I will be reporting to Amazon. I drive professionally and we have an engineering background here. Your liability if you purchase this product will be catastrophic when it drops your bikes on the Freeway or local roads in front of other moving vehicles. The rear reflectors broke off and the bikes were hanging off when I removed them and disassembled the bike for disposal. This product is extremely dangerous. It's going to get one or more motorists and passengers in a following vehicle killed, maybe cause a roadway pile up. On a sedan, the bike rack bottoms out constantly on most uphill driveway grades. Not a good product. With three bikes it nearly a disaster when it broke while driving down the road. If I had not had a bike cable lock holding them together they would have fallen off and been under someone's car. I got rid of mine and reported it to Amazon as a serious consumer safety concern. Please do not use this product. This is a real customer review. This has happened to me before with another similar bike rack from a different company. The forks are defective by design and will fail even if the product is replaced with a duplicate product. It lacks the structural integrity to do the desired job safely. This bike rack left my bike bottoming out when I hit any bump or steep grade while driving. I lost my rear tire, tube, and rear wheel to severe damage from being dragged on the concrete behind the car when the bike rack failed while driving. It cost me about $100 to replace everything that was damaged. Very dissappointed. It took me a while after my initial review to leave feedback on this because my bike was put in storage without being ridden after the rack failed. It was when I noticed the flat tire that I realized the bike had suffered severe drag damage from being in the broken bike rack. Further inspection revealed the rear tire filled with shards of metal and the tube was no good. Then the wheel evidenced extensive grind damage from cement damage while the car was in motion.

Having purchased this to transport my e-bike, I was excited to receive it quickly. After putting it together and getting it installed on my truck, I threw my e-bike on it and went. I couldn’t tell I had my e-bike on the back of the truck, no bouncing or play… great! Week later, I’m leaving early in the morning for a trip and loaded my bike on the truck. It was completely strapped in and ready to go…apparently when you push the arms down to secure the bike, the actual lock does not engage, it has to be manually turned with the included key. Hence my surprise when it’s time to leave and my bike is missing and the arms were raised. $1000 gone and a horrible start to my trip.

Overall appears to be a very good bike rack. I like to use a locking hitch pin, so the threaded connection was not going work for me. Drilled it out and I can now use my locking pin. Bike hold down straps are a little difficult to get tight, maybe it will be easier once I use it a few times. Yes,I would recommend this rack.
