We have two fairly heavy Aventon e-Bikes. This rack is built tough and has some really good features. 1. The attachment to the car is very well designed. It has a U piece inside and after you install the locking pin, you turn a handle which snugs up the connection so there is zero slop in it. 2. The wheel straps are high quality and easy to tighten and loosen. 3. Other useful features include lockable hitch pin and lockable center bike holding brackets.     • Perfect rack for my new EBike
I just got a new Juiced Ripcurrent S ebike and it weighs 75 lbs with the battery and 65 lbs without. This rack easily handles that and it is very stable on my truck due to the stabilizer feature on the hitch. It was very easy to assemble because there is an installation video that walks you through it all. If your Ebike is over 70 lbs, this hitch rack is well worth the price. It's expensive but it's better to be safe than sorry with this rack. I like that you can fold it up on the hitch when not in use, and that you can lock the top bar hooks in place. So far the wheel straps work very well and the overall quality seems very solid. I've only had it for 2 weeks, but so far it holds up very well. Hauling a mountain bike and 70lb ebike is no problem for this rack! It's very sturdy and adjustable. If you have a 70+lb Ebike don't cheap out on a hitch rack, this one is specifically designed for it and I don't have any regrets! ... show more

The Hollywood Rack is outstanding, built like a tank, yet simple to manage. Do not waste your time looking for a cheaper rack, you will get what you pay for. My fat tire e-bike is 72 lbs And the rack handles it no problem and rock solid. Hollywood also gives you a locking receiver pin, and 7’ locking cable lock all keyed to match the lock mechanisms on the rack. You do have to put this together but it could not be easier. This rack is by far the best I have seen, will handle 160 lbs, and I feel comfortable knowing I bought this to go across country with my bike. This is the rack to purchase if you are hauling heavy e-bikes. ... show more

    • Good initial trip with the Hollywood Sport Rider bike rack.
My initial impression of this bike rack is very positive. Very sturdy, weight is manageable for placing in the receiver. I’m 72 and it was not an issue for me. Folds up great when not carrying the bikes. Set up was not difficult, but getting the right balance position for the bikes took longer than I thought it would. The anti-wobble feature is nice, but I put this on the back of a Jeep Wrangler. Hollywood really should build a version for vehicles like Jeeps and Broncos that need a longer mount so the anti-wobble works. The current rack needs a 7-8” extension between the receiver and rack to clear the spare which really negated the anti-wobble positive effects. I also put a cover over the bikes to protect them from snow and ice on the trip which meant I needed to do something so following cars could see my rear brake/indicator lights. The Sport Rider has a 2” extension for additional racks on the back side. I built a light bar that mounted to the back of the receiver extension that worked beautifully. The Hollywood light bar seemed too light weight and difficult to mount to covered bikes. In all, the rack performed well on my first 1300 mile trip with two eBikes weighing about 120lbs total. I’d recommend this rack if you are carrying two heavier eBikes. Hollywood needs a better alternative for rear tire mounted vehicles as well as rear lighting other than the light bar they currently sell, but don’t let that hold you back from buying this rack. I purchased two Himiway Zebras which are 79 pounds each. I believe these are the heaviest, fat tire E bikes in production, but that’s because they’re great bikes, so I needed a rack that would hold them without vibrating or snapping off with too much tongue weight.. This bike rack fit these monster bikes without any problem and most of all there’s so many ways to secure it that it never vibrated an ounce while I’m flying down the highway. No vibration lots of tight connections. I also love that I could park it at a hotel and not worry. There are a number of keyed different locks on this bike that come standard out of the box (4) and I use all of them to make sure no one‘s going take my bikes or my hitch or all three. This is one quality product so the price might be a little higher but it was worth it. It’s a little bit heavy to pull out of my shed but I would deal with the heaviness for all the functionality and peace of mind when you’re driving with something that cost four grand . ... show more

I am an Aerospace Engineer and know how things should be built. This rack is very well designed and sturdy. Assembly was simple. The locking hitch pin, cross tube braces and heavy wire cable are all keyed alike. Take your time setting up the wheel 'saddles' - start with 'back' bike first - set front wheel even with left side of vehicle (e.g. handlebars on the left). Do the exact opposite with 'outside' bike (front wheel to the right) - you can easily adjust from there but this set-up will help to ensure you do not have wheels extending beyond the width of your vehicle. I ride a Cannondale road bike (66cm frame) and my wife rides a Specialized Vado step through that requires use of Hollywood Rack's "Bike Adapter Pro" that spans from the seat tube to the steerer tube making up for the missing cross tube - This adapter is also well built and super easy to apply/remove. Bottom line: If you are looking for a sturdy rack at a reasonable price, there is none better on the market. ... show more

    • Great Heavy Rack
I've been researching racks for my 2 Ebikes for a while. Both of each weight 65lbs. No one in my area has one from Hollywood Racks. So I took a gamble USA company with a great history I felt comfortable buying. During unboxing that's when I got a little upset to see in big letters MADE IN CHINA well crap, I thought. I've purchased 2 other racks in the past that I wasn't impress at all. This Hollywood rack is very great. Thick wall square tubing, very solid, no shake - wobbles. The tightening hitch pen thingy is great. It is heavy but it's designed to haul heavy bikes no big deal for me. I have hauled several hundreds of miles now and feel very secured no worries even though I do keep an eye in the mirrors to make sure everything is riding right. It comes with great instructions and video on this page as you know if you are reading this. Comes with lock cable which is decent, a tied down strap which everyone should use! Lock hitch pen and the hold down arms that go over the top tube of the frame lock also. Big plus is that all the locks are keyed the same. Comes with 2 keys... you better go to locksmith and get 2 more keys made and stash them in vehicle. I think it would really suck to get to the trail and can't unlock bikes from rack. The only downfall for me is that it is made in china.. but I still gave it 5 stars I do my best not to do that but you will like this rack too ... show more
