Ordered this AOSU Wireless Doorbell Camera after I couldn't tolerate the downward spiral and incompetence of the Blink Doorbell Camera. The AOSU was easy to set up. The Home Base paired immediately with the camera. I got a 132g micro sd card, formatted it on my desktop and then installed it in to the slot of the Home Base. Love the fact the AOSU can distinguish between animals, large trucks and humans. No more 2am false alarms when a stray dog or cat crosses the driveway or the the garbage truck goes by my home on the street. No storage subscription fees. However, you do have the opportunity to purchase storage from AOSU if you wish. Nice to have a choice whether or not to do that. Recently got an upgraded router/mesh point system and now have 6000 feet of coverage so that enabled me to plug the home base right where I wanted so I can hear the chime if someone pushes the doorbell. It has several different settings you can choose to use or turn off at your discretion. So far the doorbell has functioned lightning fast with notifications as designed. You can remove the doorbell easily and bring it inside to charge or charge it while it is still installed at your door. I have a battery pack and usb-c cord and did recharge it without taking it down. However, as the weather gets colder I will go ahead and bring it inside for recharging this winter. The removal tool is included and I keep it in the original box to find it quickly. I can't speak as to how long a charge will last, but I have read that the more features that are turned on will affect how long you go between recharging which makes sense. Literature included stated 180 days of battery life. That will be wonderful if true but at this point I just want fast notifications, reliable video of events and ease of use. That is the case up to now. My one recharging session from 66% to 100% was very fast. I would recommend this product. There are lots of videos on YouTube with more detailed information on features and installation but the AOSU included documentation in the box was very good. You can also access the manuals online from the AOSU site.

Just got it today As of right now it seems pretty good, and clear video. Easy to set up and install. Ill give it some time and if any update is needed on this post I'll edit. But so far I like it

The Homebase unexpectedly stopped working after just one month of use. Fortunately, AOSU's customer service—especially Lynette—was outstanding. She guided me through the troubleshooting process and ensured the defective unit was quickly replaced. As for the device itself, the build quality is excellent, and the motion detection is highly accurate. The ability to customize detection zones has been particularly useful in minimizing false alerts. Setup was straightforward, and I had everything up and running in no time. One standout feature is the sound quality—it’s clear and crisp, which makes a big difference when using the two-way audio or reviewing footage. Combined with my other AOSU security cameras, this system offers a comprehensive within a single app. Overall I would recommend this device! Side note, make sure get a microSD memory, or else you'll be clueless like me in the first few days wondering why it does live and notification but not save any video lol.

Decided to try this Aosu camera after my previous Ring doorbell kept bumping up the annual fee for cloud storage. I really like that this Aosu camera records to an SD card in the base unit inside your home, rather than to a card in the outside camera device. Recording quality is nice and clear. I was pleasantly surprised by the motion sensitivity. On the default "auto" motion sensitivity with the "human only" option turned on, it pretty much captures every event I would want it to (people walking up to the door), with only an occasional unnecessary capture of someone walking along the sidewalk (the camera faces toward the street). And after 1.5 months I've only noticed one instance where it didn't trigger when I would expect it to (on a child walking up to the door). With my previous camera it was annoyingly frequent that it failed to record when even an adult walked up to the door. It also wakes up fast enough to record the initial approach of someone, rather than only starting to record as someone is already walking away (as with my old camera). But here we start getting into the negatives: When trying to view any recording on the app, it shows a "loading" icon for about 5 seconds, and then finally starts to play the video from about the 5th second (!). Motion events of someone dropping off a package are often only about 8 sec long, so starting to play these around the 5th second means maybe just seeing someone's back, or nothing at all. I've seen other reviews mention this, where after contacting customer service the only solution was to download the video in order to watch from the beginning. Yes this works, but it's super clunky and it ought to be an easy software fix to play videos from the beginning after loading. I tried submitting this feedback through the Aosu portal, but no response or software/firmware fixes yet. Another negative, battery life is only about 1.5 months (averaging 5-8 short motion events/day), much shorter than the advertised 6-month battery life. My previous camera usually lasted about 4 months between charges. Overall I'd give this camera about 3.5 stars. I'm happy to be free of annual cloud subscription fees and pleased with the motion sensitivity, but I can't quite give it 4 stars given the negatives mentioned -- especially only getting about 1/4 of the advertised battery life. Pluses: + No cloud subscription needed. Records to an SD card inside the home. + Clear sharp recordings + Good motion sensitivity. Missed motion events are rare. Wakes up quick enough to capture a person during approach to door. + Ability to define motion zones (although I haven't needed to use it) Minuses: - Battery life only about 1.5 months (much less than the advertised 180 days) - Unable to play first 5 seconds of video captures within the app ----- Update Sept 2024: After discussing with customer support about the short battery life, they suggested adjusting settings for motion sensitivity and detection zones to reduce processing (even for events that don't trigger recording), I'm now getting about 3 months from the battery. Still not the advertised 6-months, but much better than the 1.5 months I was getting before. I suspect it was setting up detection zones that made the difference, to filter out the view of the street (even though already I had not been getting unwanted recordings of street traffic). Bumping up my review to 4 stars, also for good response from customer support.

Great Camera that I've had for a little over a year now. Very simple to install and use. The battery is easy to charge and lasts a long time. It really helped put my wife at ease knowing we have this in out home.

This camera misses a LOT of passer by. I live in an apartment complex with breezeways so right outside my door I see a door for another apartment right across from me and it's maybe eight feet away. I get video of the people that live there going in but NEVER coming out. I just go an Amazon delivery today and the camera did not pick that up either. The breezeway I live in is very popular among the residents that live here because it's a direct path to the pool, the leasing office, all the amenities that are provided (laundry center, weight room, etc) and the mail center. In fact, it is the most popular breezeway in the complex of nine buildings and 190 units. Since I installed this on Monday night at 10PM, today it's Wednesday at 5:15, I've had a total of four events today, two of which were me opening the door, five yesterday, one of which was me opening the door and one on Monday, which was me opening the door to test it when I finished installing it. It is missing a ton of events. I noticed there is at least a four second delay between an event that occurs and when the video starts. More than likely it's more than that because I never see the people across from me unlocking the door to get in their apartment, just the door already half open and them walking inside. Again, I NEVER see an event of them leaving and unless they keep jumping the fence over their patio (I live at street level) every time they leave, this camera is missing it every time. I worked with tech support and I had already done everything they told me to do before I called them other than resetting the camera and that doesn't seem to have done anything. I even went as far as changing the quality to the lower one, set the sensitivity at its highest and checked off the 'Person Only' under motion detection so it should grab everything that moves past the lens. In one clip, all I saw was the back of a person walking past the camera, meaning it took that long for the camera to start recording to the point it just got the person's back at the edge of the camera. I want to like this camera because it was really a pain in the neck to get this thing to work but I'm thinking I threw away $90 on this camera. By the way, I bought it because last week someone threw a shopping cart against my door at three different times one night, three different times the next night and twice a few nights later and the police can't do anything about it and I suspect if this person does it again, this camera won't pick it up. They really need to work on shortening that delay from event start to recording and they also need to do something about notifications not coming in. The last few times I didn't get any notification at all. Just to note: I am not subscribing to their cloud service. I am saving my videos locally only. Two Month update: I'm reducing my rating to one star because I found out it needs an actual signal back to their home server to work. My Internet went down last week and this camera would not work, regardless of the fact that my LAN was still up and running perfectly. My internet was down for over 12 hours, meaning over 12 hours of my not being able to see what's going on outside my door, making this device more useless and more expensive than a paperweight. If I'm not using their cloud service, it should NOT be required to have the camera access their network to work as intended. Why do they have this? The only reason I could guess is that they're either keeping my videos anyway and if so, what are they doing with them or it gives them the ability to shut down my camera/service completely at their whim. Other companies have done exactly that, instead of allowing free service to store locally, they required a fee just to use the product as before, and changing the ToS. This should be illegal. It should only require access to their servers if using their cloud service and default to saving locally if that connection ever goes down. I would NOT recommend buying this device at all. I wish I would have known this sooner so I could return it for a full refund. Granted probably all these doorbell cameras operate the same way but until we start NOT buying these, then they'll keep on doing it.

I purchased this 2K security camera system (3 outdoor cameras with solar panels and this doorbell camera) almost 2 years ago because I wanted a camera with internal memory so I didn’t have to pay a monthly fee to see my video recordings. The setup was straightforward and easy, but I immediately noticed an issue with the sound feed to one of the cameras. It was easy to reach out to their customer service via the app, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they responded. The support team was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help resolve the problem. Despite trying a few troubleshooting steps, the issue persisted. Without hesitation, they offered to replace the equipment. The replacement process was seamless, and the new camera has been working flawlessly ever since. Then recently, I was having an issue with downloading and replaying the video clips on my doorbell camera. I reached out to Aosu customer service again and was once again impressed with them. They sent me a new doorbell after a year and a half and I have had no issues with it since. The video feed on the Aosu 2K cameras and doorbell are very clear with a beautiful picture and the sound is very clear. There are many options on the motion section range and you can even tell it to record only humans. I am very pleased with the quality of these cameras and my choice to purchase a whole outdoor set to cover my property from them. It’s rare to find a company that stands so firmly behind their product, and I’m impressed by their commitment to customer satisfaction. If you’re looking for a reliable security camera backed by excellent customer service, I highly recommend this one.

This is a great camera. It was not very expensive and set up - connecting with my other four Aosu cameras - was very simple. The picture is very clear. The night vision feature is great and of course you can talk through the camera. Since I have a gated yard and no one comes to my front door, I set up the camera as an indoor security camera. The wide field of view covers 2 patio doors, the foyer at the front door, the stairs to the second floor, the living room, dining room and part of the kitchen. Anyone moving through the first floor is captured. Even though I am not using the camera as intended, I think it is perfect for peace of mind for me - especially considering the vent-a-hood tried to burn my house down when it was less than a year old. The old camera system captured the first few second of the fire (less than a minute) as the fire grew until smoke covered the camera. I have upgraded to Aosu because of the picture quality, design features and the app on my phone. I can keep an eye on the house from anywhere and have the peace of mind I need. There doesn't seem to be any lag in the video, and I have not seen the dogs on camera, so false detection doesn't seem to happen. I think all of the units I bought are built well - sturdy and built to last. Update! The camera battery died - apparently not just ran out of juice - DIED! I contacted customer Support about replacing the battery and they sent me a NEW COMPLETE Doorbell Camera and Base!! Talk about Great Service! From first contact to setting up the new camera in my living room was less than 2 weeks.
