  • Very sturdy, easy to assemble and use, folds up for storage
Size: Hitch Bike Rack
I've used this rack for about 3months on my Toyota RAV4 with two Cannondale bikes (42lbs each). What I like: - Easy to assemble - Seems very heavy-duty and stable. - The screw-in hitch pin and additional hitch stabilizer greatly reduces any wobble...very effective. - Has a long enough tube length from my trailer hitch that insures no contact between bikes and the back of my vehicle. - Although I'm a bit uncertain about the velcro tire straps, they're very good quality and I've had no issues - The manufacturer followed up with a feedback email that resulted in a very positive dialogue about a couple of things on the rack that could be better. I was impressed with the follow-up. - I did a fair amount of initial research and don't think you can beat the price point for a bike rack of this quality...it's a very good deal for the money. I'm very pleased with the rack. What I don't like: - The review comments regarding flimsy foam j-hook covers are correct. With that said, I went to a local hardware store and bought a couple of 1ft lengths of 5/8" heater hose. I pulled off the existing foam padding, and with a little silicone grease and twisting, successfully installed my replacement hose. It's been very secure with no movement or issues. I let the manufacturer know about it on a feedback email that he sent. He advised they've now modified the j-hook padding to be much better 👍 - If you need to slide the top j-hook off the vertical bar to mount your bikes, you'll be frustrated by a metal rivet at the top of the center post that makes it difficult to completely slide off the hook without taking the hook-bracket apart. The upside of this is that it keeps the hook from siding all the way off. Downside is that at least in my case, it makes bike mounting a bit more difficult. I also advised the manufacturer about this, so they may be working on a solution. For me, it's not a show-stopper...just annoying, and in my opinion easy to re-engineer if they choose to do so. ... show more

  • Great bike rack
Size: Hitch Bike Rack
Great Bike rack for the price. Pros: Cost is great and built quality is good. I like the anti wobble device. Easy to pull the pin and tip in up or down to access the back of your vehicle or truck bed. Cons: Assembly takes a little bit more time than more expensive racks. Have to play with a bit to dial everything in just right. Heavy. Be careful if you have a tailgate (explanation below) All in all this thing is awesome for the cost. I have used it on multiple road trips and driven at least 2000 miles with out any issues. I'm not sure why people are having problems with the rubber portion of it wearing away and damaging their bikes... I haven't had that problem. Only thing I can think of is that maybe the arms aren't secured really tight allowing the wrapping to rub and wear away? If you are worried about that I would just put thin piece of cloth or something between your bike and the rubber I guess. Only downside to this rack is if you are using it with a pick up truck Be careful with you tailgate. When the rack is in the down folded position so you can open your tailgate, make sure to check if it will hit the top of the receiver portion of the rack (see red circled area in photo). My tailgate on my 2021 F150 will hit this before its all the way down, it is SO close to being able to be fully open before it touches, I keep a little nice piece of thick foam to put in-between this portion of the rack and the tailgate so it doesn't damage it. ... show more

  • Overall a good bike rack.
Size: Hitch Bike Rack
Pro: All of the parts were well packaged. The main outer box is heavy. Easy to assemble and the assembly instructions were adequate. You will need two size 17 mm socket ratchet tools or adjustable wrench or pliers. Heavy and solid rack. Easy to mount to my truck hitch. Folds up nicely when stored. Con: On the first page of the instructions they warn you that because of the material, it “may” rust. So guess what? It’s going to rust over time. That won’t be a problem if you intend on removing it from your vehicle after use. But the big issue is the actual design. It was difficult to secure my two bikes since I’m 6’2” and have large frame mountain bikes. It was challenging to secure the top frame of my bikes to the center support where you mount the U shaped brackets. May not be an issue if you have average size bike frames. ... show more

  • Great bike rack!
Size: Hitch Bike Rack
Worth every penny. Sturdy, no wobbling and easy to manage. My first use of this bike rack was driving 2000 miles from Minnesota to California. Not one single issue and I felt complete confident that the bike was safely attached. 10/10 would recommend.

  • Not that great.
Size: Hitch Bike Rack
This rack is strong and appears well-built. Trouble is, we've used it three times and the rubber that braces the bikes is broken already. Also, unless you bungee the bikes to the vehicle, they rub together. There are two spots on the fender and wheel of the inside bike where the paint's scraped off.

  • Best value
Size: Hitch Bike Rack
So far so good, no complaints. For what you get for this price is the best value. Under $150 with coupon. This rack has one of the higher weight limits of bike carriers, tilts away from car for access, folds up, it is made for 2 large to medium bikes but can be set up for 1, I just left one set up wheel loops off, and it came with accessories to limit bike/rack wobble. I added lock washers under all the tightening knobs for added security from loosening. It was easy to assemble and not too heavy. After a few uses, I found I needed to remove the hold down hooks to make it easier getting a bike on or off and the rivet at the top prevents you from sliding them up and off and you have to disassemble the hook. I simply drilled out the rivet and then drilled all the way through and placed a spring clip similar to the spring clip that locks the rod in position. I’ll probably do it to the horizontal bar also. The rivets are to prevent anything from sliding off if they are left loose. On my car the tires on my fat tire e-bike blocks my tail lights, so I wired up some magnetic trailer lights from HF and added them to my carrier where you can see them through the spokes. ... show more
