Purchased this to use as-is, but found the shell to be a bit flimsy when not loaded with firewood. Not flopping around flimsy, but enough that I would want it getting slammed by high winds when empty. So, I built a X-brace for it with 2x4 PT lumber and some creative wood working. Now it’s solid as a rock and has dividers for sorting different sizes of logs! See photos for final design and rough plans if you want to try it yourself (note: requires woodworking tools and experience). The provided materials and parts are top-notch and assembled easily. Not a fan of thumb nuts and would have preferred nylon-sheathed locknuts, but got these to cinch up well with a pair of pliers and power driver at 5/22 torque setting. ... show more

    • Good upper protection for firewood, cheap bottom support bars, missing 8 bolts for assembly.
Good overall quality on the waterproof corrugated upper shell, easy to assemble. The bottom support bars have been changed since I bought 2 of same thing a couple years ago. Now they’re flimsy rods instead of strong inch-wide bars, the center connecting joint doesn’t line up so the rods flex and twist. They need to be well supported, set on level cement or pavers or would easily bend with the weight of firewood on them. Also, my kit came short 8 bolts for the assembly! I had to make a trip to a hardware store for parts in order to finish this project while I had help. ... show more
