  • Easy Fix
After our pergola rotted this was the most economical way to bring some shade to your deck. It looks great and we get lot of compliments on the colors and design. I must say we did not use the original hardware. Is really windy by us and the hardware included was not going to do the trick. We used some chains and other lobster hooks. Otherwise i recommend this product. ... show more

  • Great buy.
They are working great and doing the job well. They keep the pool shaded and have helped keep the pool down about two to three degrees. They do fine with wind and rain.

  • Love it!
This has been great! Has helped keep some sun off of the pool and has kept the temperature down in the Phoenix, AZ summer where your pool can turn into a bathtub pretty quickly. The quality could be a little better, but I'm thrilled with it for the price. I found similar product going for 3 times what this one was. ... show more

  • My yard is way cooler and looks great too. Nice huge size sail!
I love these shades! I have several in my yard and patio. We get some pretty harsh sun in the summer despite this being SoCal. The trick to setting up is to really put on some bolt anchors and visualize the best angles. If you are a sailor - you should have no problems since you know knots and how to best tighten a sail so it doesn't luff. I also find that if you use outdoor plastic coated laundry line, you don't have to worry about mold or other issues and it doesn't stretch, allowing better leverage for tightening. I use several carabiners. First, I loop the line through the the bolt that is attached to the house, anchor point, tree, etc... then I tie a bowline knot to create a loop. Then I hook on a carabiner to it I then loop the line through the metal eyelet on the sail and also tie a bowline - keeping in mind that I want as tight a connection. I pull hard on one and hook it to the carabiner in the middle, and if necessary, adjust one of the lines (to the sail or to the house...) until I get a tight enough connection. On the final corner, I use a tightening hook so I can get maximum tension. In any case you will have to adjust a few connections until you get it right. It helps to have spacial awareness so you can visualize it. My yard is way cooler, the sails are an inexpensive way to cover a big area and they look great (if you do them right...) ... show more

  • Replaced 13' cantilevered umbrella
I have used a 13' cantilevered umbrella for several years on my swimming pool deck but had to adjust the angle and setting several times each afternoon to get shade where I needed it and still covered only limited areas. I installed this sun sail this year and love it. I have a much larger protected area and it really does protect those under it from the sun without blocking it out entirely. One caveat: use 6" x 6" posts. I initially installed using 4" x 4" and they warped badly from the load. ... show more

  • Not canvas fabric. Some kind of plastic mesh.
This turns out to be made of what I guess is recycled plastic bottles. We're in Florida, where the sun is tough on things, so we're not expecting this to last more than one summer. After one month, it's noticeably sagging. Also, no instructions included, so we will have to figure out what the twine bundle is supposed to do. After writing this review, the company contacted me and said they would send a replacement, which has never arrived. ... show more

  • Great but you’ll need your own hardware
We are on our second set of these. The first set lasted three years. I will let you know that we had to buy hardware to install these safely ($100) we live by the beach and the wind can pull these down and really whip around! If you got hit in the head it would really hurt. We bought stainless steel cables and quick disconnect clips FYI. Hope this helps!! The rope it comes with is really flimsy. We love having them by the pool. Also, husband is reminding me that the grommets will break and he reinforced those with the quick clips. ... show more
