I upgraded from a 50A charger to this 80a Autel unit and the difference is noticeable right away. Charging my 2026 Cadillac IQ is much faster and more consistent, especially overnight. The build quality feels solid and the install was straightforward for my electrician. Setup in the app was quick and everything connected without issues. Was able to activate and use the charger within about 20 mins. Overall it’s been reliable and does exactly what I needed it to do. When my friends come over they always ask to use it. One tip i can give is read the manual. I tried to do it without reading and kinda got stuck. But it has a breakdown which helped a bunch.

If you want to know what is in a persons heart look in their closet or the floor of their car. Same for an EV charger, they are all slick on the outside but crack the top and some are a total mess, just a jumble of wires. Look under the hood of the Autel, clean as a whistle, connections are super easy to both see and do with nothing in the way. At least on the detached holster model, but I think you can take off a few more screws and get the holster out of the way on that model as well. Everything clicked on and went to work at plug in time, nothing needs to be configured other than the rotating amp limit dial inside the box, which requires a tiny flathead the sort that you use on eyeglasses. Everything else is optional. If you don't care to connect to bluetooth, ethernet or wifi and just want a dumb box that pours electrons into your car you can do that. Getting set up with the Autel app was fairly easy, though using the QRcode to get the app didn't work, but I can type "autel" into the playstore search so no big deal. Double check when you scan the QRcode on the manual for box linking with the app, it had the right serial number but the pin was wrong so I had to enter the correct one by hand, don't just assume because it populated all the fields it was correct. My favorite thing that I did not know about was the software level limiting. I mean I knew you could do that but from what I could tell it limited you to the same steps as the hardware switch, 16/24/32/40/48/50. But you can actually do it in single amp steps so if you want to throw in a bit more safety factor to your 30amp breaker to help you sleep at night you're not limited to just choosing to go down to 16 from 24, you can have 23, 22, 17...all the way down to 6. That should come in handy if you want to relive your 1.44kw memories from level 1 life.

I just purchased the Autel MaxiCharger 80 Amp stands out immediately. The biggest difference is the power, this thing charges noticeably faster than most units out there. If you have the setup to support 80A, it’s a game changer. The build quality is solid and feels more commercial-grade than the typical plastic chargers you see. Setup was straightforward, and the app is actually useful (not clunky like some competitors). Scheduling and tracking charging is simple. Set up was very easy, the app process is also amazing. And it looks good!!!

Had the charger professionally installed by electrician. Worked great the first time we charged but wouldn’t work a few days later. We had the electrician inspect the unit and everything was fine so we contacted Autel’s customer service. 4 days later we are still going back and forth with them. We’ve had to call/email/chat everyday to make progress on getting a replacement after they confirmed our unit was defective and would need to be replaced. Waiting to see now what happens but wish we would have gone with a different charger with better/more responsive customer service. Will post an update if Autel comes through and makes this right. So far frustrating and disappointing experience.

Luckily I had a sub panel in my garage so a $500 electrician visit had it installed. Probably overkill for my home garage but has great management features and I may move it to my office building for outdoor use eventually. I am a month in and have had no problems and it is working well with a cheap Tesla adapter although this makes it where you can't use the wall mount without removing the adapter. No big deal, I just hang it over the hook at the top and leave the cord draped out part way to the car. For my amount of use, I probably could have gone with less amps, but it is nice to have it charge relatively quickly. The 50A running through the cable does get pretty warm, Probably would be better if it was a heavier gauge wire but that gets expensive.

The best car charger. Fast level 2 charger. Long, 25 feet charging hose. There was only one issue that it had to be connected to the Ethernet port for the firmware update after it was installed on the outside wall. So I had to run long Ethernet cable from my router to the charger. After the firmware was updated then I was able to connect the charger to the Wi-Fi.

The charger is great, but the cable gets so stiff in the Michigan winter that it takes great effort to use it. I contacted customer support, and they told me that I have the new flexible cable, so I guess I’m going to have to find a 3rd party that makes a better cable. For this reason, I can only give it 3 stars.

Install was easy and straight forward. I did hire an electrician to do the install. I am an amateur electrician and after watching him do it. I am confident I could do it if I ever need to again. It looks nice, the cord is ample and the machine works great. The app is constantly improving and works great. I bought the highest amp one but I only use 48 instead of the 60. Just didn't know any better. SO unless you are know you are goign to use the max power of this, just get the next one down and save a few a bucks.
