I'll start this by saying I've used so many different colors from Arctic Fox and I still stand by this brand until my hair falls out and I need wigs. I might even dye my wigs with it if it comes to that 🤣 it smells great, I can leave it in for hours and it makes my hair feel fantastic! It doesn't last forever, but I enjoy changing up my hair so I consider that a feature! Anyway, story time: I accidentally bought Blue Jean instead of Poseidon and I was initially disappointed. It looked too dark and grey.. the under part of my hair is lightened as well as the front "bangs" area. After my last round Poseidon washed out, I had planned to use Purple AF on the roots and Poseidon down the rest. I was gonna use the last but of Poseidon I had left, but accidentally got the wrong color and didn't have enough of my last bottle left to do what i needed... I decided to just give it a shot with the new color anyway, (worst case scenario I'll wash my hair more frequently and try again when it lightens up), but honestly this has been my FAVORITE combination I've done so far! Blue Jean Baby and Purple AF look SO good next to my natural brown hair! It's one of my more subtle dye jobs, but I'm very happy with it! If you're looking for two darkish colors for your next dye job, please let me convince you to try this out! I think I finally found my favorite!!

I always love arctic fox in their products because they always work super well for me they smell great and they have a nice price. I didn’t necessarily bleach my hair for using the product because I am a natural blonde, but I think because of this the color had some issue taking the first time around so I think once I get around to the second dye I should be even happier with the results. Keep in mind the color might necessarily not look like what’s on the package depending on your own hair color and how it takes with that because the product is great but make sure you know what you’re doing before you use it.

I bleached my hair to the dark blonde/brown level. Brown parts definitely showed more towards green than blue but I am fine with that. I did end up getting some blue and blue-green results. BUT I waited for about an avg 35-40mins before washing. The tub was full of blue water (make sure tub at the end doesn’t have blue stains, if it dries, harder to get off) of course with the initial rinse. The end result was ok. The problem for me was the duration of how long the color lasted afterwards. I need to wash my hair once everyday and my shampoo and conditioner are color safe. By the end of the first week, practically 75-80% of my color was gone. So lasting effects do vary for everyone. I got to say the product smelled like artificial grape flavor which was funny. The product did indicate up to X-X amount of washes, but for me I’m pretty sure I felt short, right below the short end. Good product, but probably not the best option for me because of the duration it lasted, my expectation was about 1 month :(

+ POSITIVES: 1. So the first thing I noticed when I opened the Blue Jean Baby dye bottle was the smell: it smelled exactly like how it looked, like a blueberry. This smell also permeated my hair even after I showered after putting the dye in my hair for an hour (I added heat 5 times every ten minutes). As for the color, I was disappointed because even though my hair was light-reddish brown, I expected the blue to still pop up at the end of my hour after I washed out the dye. 2. The second thing I noticed was that my hair was a lot more sleek, smooth, and had less fly-aways than before I died my hair, even after I had heated the hair 5 times during the waiting process. I attributed this better hair quality to the fact that the product itself had a significant portion of conditioner that helped even out the color while moisturizing my hair. - NEGATIVES: 1. The color I got instead of navy-blue was a sheer-black (not a blue-black), but rather a shimmery black color, which would have been nice, if my natural hair color was not the same color. So unless you have a very light, blond hair color, either natural or bleached, it would be difficult for you to get the blue hair that is pictured in the product description or even a blue-black. This would be something you should consider if you are aiming for a very dark-bluish hue like I was. 2. The color itself washed out so much on the first wash (right after I dyed my hair) that it bleached the entire bottom of my shower stall. Because this was my first time attempting to dye my hair with semi-permanent dye, I didn't realize the extent to which color could come out during showers. Even with these half-permanent dyes, working on darker spaces would reduce the chance that your dye accidentally dyes something that is not your hair.

Very easy product to use that gives a great color. That being said, it definitely is not good enough to be a standalone for a long time. I definitely feel like I need to use like a supplemental color depositing shampoo after like 2 weeks (It is a temporary hair color so as expected). I will say that the part where you cover your hair with a plastic bag and then heat it up with the hair dryer does make it big difference. I dyed my hair in two batches and the second time I didn't do that and it came off way faster.
