My daughter uses this. I bleach her hair for her and wait 24 hrs and then dye it with this. I love that it isn't messy. It rinses clear. There's no bleeding. The color is so vibrant and beautiful. The more you wash your hair the faster it fades just like all dyes. Try to only wash your hair a couple times a week and use dry shampoo in between and you should get a few months of intense color. Also the lighter your hair the more vibrant the color is. So if you want the best color get your hair as blonde as you can. Im a big fan of this brand now. Whenever my daughter wants something colorful this is our go to. I also mix any extra color in with my daughter's conditioner. I was dying my hair with permanent box color ruby red, but it always faded quickly (ugly orange-red) and my hair was starting to become damaged. Wasn't sure Arctic Fox would dye my silver roots and my darker hair, but the color is amazing! Beautiful, bright, pink-red! Absolutely love it! I keep it in for 2 hours and it comes out gorgeous; my hair feels healthier and shiny. Even the faded color is bright and beautiful. Honestly, it seems to fade slower than the permanent dyes did. My daughter wanted “light but dark blue” and chose this exact color from Arctic Fox which is my go to brand for hair color and I’ve been using for years. So we did the bleach, we did the prep, we did the whole thing. But managed to get an odd shade of green almost. It was a gorgeous color, don’t get me wrong!! But definitely not what we were aiming for, and not the color the bottle showed. I’ve never had this issue with this brand. Now, could this be my error? Absolutely. However, I’ve been dying hair for years and mostly using this brand for coloring and never experienced this type of issue so who knows. Smells great. Doesn't rub off on my boyfriends arm when I lay on him (yeah some of those other brands do that). Color lasts longer than any of the other brands I've tried (and I've tried A LOT). I have dark brown hair and it does show throughout it, but I would suggest lightening up first if you want it to really pop. I did that on parts so those show more bright. So according to my purchase history I have been using this color (ish) for 5+ years and they have made some not amazing changes over the years. So It started out as Purple Rain which was an amazing color, a very deep purple that only stayed purple long. It didn’t bleed too bad and washed off non hair surfaces pretty easily. It also would fade to a nice magenta after a while. Actually hydrated my hair, was easy on the skin and smelled amazing. So a year or so ago they changed the formula and the name to “Purple AF” which honestly is much less purple. - Not only is it a purple on the pinker side it fades to pinkish much quicker, like 2 washes, than it used to. - I figured they use less blue now because generally blue on its own washes out a lot faster. But there is a much higher red/pink concentration here than I would like. - Additionally this stuff is much less skin/or accidentally eye friendly. It will itch on the skin/scalp if left on for the same amount of time (45 minutes +) as the old formula. If you get it in the eyes they will burn AF (maybe that's where they were going with the AF). -It will dry out my hair pretty badly now to the point I have to add extra moisturizer after I rinse this out. -Now it doesn’t smell as good at all, more of a “meh” smell. I was hoping they would change back or maybe it was a bad batch but over a dozen bottles (year and half) later and it is still not as purple and not as skin friendly as it used to be. I used to be a dye ( ;) pun intended) hard Arctic Fox fan but I have to say now I am starting to try some other brands in hopes they are what this used to be. ... show more

Great great great product. Used on my 8 yr olds hair after trying the koolaid trick, which didn’t work. Girl wants half pink hair, mommy doesn’t want to fry her beautiful locks and spend $100. Worked perfectly, smells fantastic, easy to use. I used probably 2-3 oz on about 6 inches of her hair, wrapped it in foil and heated it with a hair dryer a couple of times over about 35 minutes. Rinsed and dried and wa la! A lovely shade of magenta. Her hair is light to medium brown, color result is exactly as pictured in the description. It’s really, really pretty and she absolutely loves it. Mommy loves that it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg, or an expensive visit to a salon. Appears that it will last awhile, but I plan to reapply it as it won’t damage her hair. Highly recommend. Will stain surfaces and towels like any color would, I just used a magic eraser on my bathroom sink for a few spots. I also used gloves to rinse it out to avoid any staining. ... show more
