I got the shade periwinkle. I’m an avid arctic fox user and I LOVE their dyes, I really do. I’ve never had a bad experience. The pastel shades however, they just don’t stick, even when my hair is platinum blonde to start. The periwinkle is a beautiful shade, but I had to add some Purple AF to get it to really stick and by that point it wasn’t truly periwinkle, it was more just purple. the periwinkle by itself came out patchy, my bangs for some reason stayed icy blonde, and the roots of my hair turned grey, the tips were light light periwinkle despite doing 2 rounds of color. It washed out after 2 washes. The other colors, however, love love love, highly recommend arctic fox, truly. Just be mindful of pastels. ... show more

My cousin uses this brand and loves it so I thought I would try it. I get better results using Manic Panic. I will never buy this brand again. My hair was only shampooed and was dry before I applied the dye the FIRST time. I was having issues with the color attaching to my strands. I was using the brush and I used my fingers trying to get it to stick. I was painting the dye on thick on my scalp and it was sticking there that well either. No matter what I did my hair was patchy before even rinsing it out. I've been dying my hair for a decade so I know how to do it. It just wasn't taking to my hair. I was hoping that it would take while letting the dye sit in my hair so I left it for a few hours. Even though it was itchy my head straight away. Rinsed my hair and it was still patchy. It was freaking horrible. I let my hair air dry and then decided to use the rest of the bottle. My hair already looked like crap so I didn't even take care when applying it this time. I took it outside, squirted the dye straight into my hands, then applied directly onto my hair. After applying to all my hair I took the little left in the bottle to lather it on my head. Sat for a couple more hours. While my hair did take better with this application than the more thorough first application my hair is still patchy. The shade that is in my hair is nice. Just not even and patchy. That is the only reason I feel safe giving this a one star. Thankfully its winter right now so I can wear a hat over my head to cover up the patchiness until I can buy another brand to fix this. I might try Lunar Tides. This is so easy to use and such a gorgeous color! As someone who has never dyed my own hair (beyond the shampoo dye that you basically just lather all over your head in the shower), this was pretty straightforward and turned out so cute! I will say that it faded pretty fast for me, but I was in the world’s most chlorinated pool and the lake several times only a couple weeks after dying it. I bought the Periwinkle shade, and it did turn out more blue than the color on the front of the bottle, but when you look at the guide to see what the results will look like based on your base hair color, it was actually very accurate. I have medium length, slightly buttery platinum ends and light brown/dark blonde/level 7 roots with super fine straight hair and a lot of it, and one bottle was JUST enough to cover my whole head. If you have long hair I would imagine you’d need more than one bottle. It smells kind of like grape soda or something similar, but in a pleasant way. So far it has faded mostly blue-to-silver, with a bit of aqua-ish woven throughout, but not quite green, so that’s good! Definitely recommend Arctic Fox and I can’t wait to try more colors! ... show more

    • It leaves a lingering fake grape scent

This dye is decent quality, though it stained my scalp pretty badly even though I diluted it quite a bit and only left it in for 15 minutes to tone my blond hair. That's not that big of a deal though as it came out by the next day. My biggest issue with it is that it smells strongly of grape bubblegum, I smelled it in the box before I even opened it bottle. Now my bathroom, my towel, my pillow, my clothes all smell like this awful chemically grape scent. I've washed my hair since and I still get whiffs of it. If you liked that purple hubba bubba from back in the 90s, you'll probably love this fragrance... I, however, find it to be disgusting. ... show more

I’ve seen mixed reviews about Arctic Fox, but I’ve always been such a fan of their vast array of different colors, thick silky product that smells heavenly and applies smooth, and vivid semi-permanent colors that last a multitude of washes if you use cold water. I bought this periwinkle hoping that it might tone the more brassy and yellow spots in an existing blonde streak I have among my natural brown hair. It did tone it to a lovely silvery color, which bled through to the ends in that lovely periwinkle shade. Over time the rest of my hair did fade to match the silver tone. Over all a win, and I will always use Arctic Fox products for my dyeing needs ... show more

Didn't think this was going to work. I didn't have gloves so I used my bare hands, the dye washed off my hands and didn't stay for days on my skin like most hair dye does. That is why I didn't think it would stay on my hair. I have some natural white streaks in my hair now, and I put this dye on them, waited about 30-60mins, then rinsed with cold water. It actually dyed them. One wash later and it's still there, too. I love how I don't need to use the whole bottle at once (it comes in a bottle with a lid so it can be stored easily). I got the periwinkle color. Love this so much, I'll probably be buying more. If you like temporary hair color and don't like staining your hands, GET THIS BRAND! ... show more
