  • Great machine
This machine hits all the right notes -- compact, works perfect, stable, easy to use. It's honestly great. Assembly is kind of a pain in the butt (as is any exercise equipment of this size with this many parts). I will say this though -- for the love of God, do NOT try assembling this with the included wrenches. They're toddler sized and the thickness of a quarter -- you'll want to throw yourself off the roof. If you use a socket wrench you'll finish in half the time (3 hours is a good estimate), and you wont have baby wrench dig marks in your palms. I'm serious, get a socket wrench unless you're a masochist. ... show more

  • Great for in-home use.
This was a dream come true that I did not know could be a reality. I've paid for different memberships for years and did not know I could actually have a Smith Machine in my house. The machine is time consuming to put together, black and white pic instructions helps a ton. I would advise getting a rachet set (14mm/15mm socket helps) and a pair of pliers. The tops screws where pull up bar attachment, I could not get to fit. The screw and nut don't fit in the well at all. I would also recommend you get a friend to work on the opposite side Know that the rails have some slickness to it, but as you handle putting it together it will dry up. I went to NAPA got a can of Silicon Gel, sprayed the rails, inside the housing, and it works just fine. Know that is light and when I first used it, I was benching and dang near picked up the whole Smith Machine with the force I pushed with. Again, great machine for all the workouts I do. ... show more

  • I (almost) L❤VE it...!!! 😉
Although this Smith-machine kit is pretty much exactly what I was expecting, I had hoped that I would be a little more pleasantly surprised than I am. However, as stated, it is as expected... So, I can't fault it by deducting any stars for not being more than it is... or even should be. It is what it is. And, what it is is a very decent, lightweight, in-home, functional Smith-machine... First off, assembly is no joke. Everything arrived safely and soundly in a single, extra-large, heavy package. Something I most appreciated was the meticulous care that went in to the protective manner in which everything was packaged. Assembly doesn't require any post-doctoral degree, but is time-consuming... Secondly, everything is just significantly more light-duty, compared to the more costly machines... like ones closer to what you would find at your local gym. But, that's the trade-off... Right? Less "beef" equals less cost. Components are adequate and in line with this sort of set-up. The bar has good knurling, but is comparatively light in weight, thus adding to the reason that it does have a little "play"/wobble/movement while sliding on its plastic gliders. This "play" is the biggest thing I don't care for. There is a reason why the maximum weight-capacity rating on this machine is 330 lb. Honestly, I think that's about right... and, for sure, would not recommend going above 350 lb. on most exercises. Thirdly, the bar comes fabricated to accommodate 1-inch plates, but 2-inch adapters are included, thus obviously allowing for the use of 2-inch plates. The bench is great quality, although I really don't care for the company's logo on the back-pad at all... seems a little "kiddie" and juvenile to me... and not strength-training specific (which this company is obviously not)... Lastly, the pull-up bar is a nice addition, but I do get some wobble while going heavy... Now... With ALLL of that being said... I really can say that it is a good entry-level, lightweight Smith-machine... which IS pretty much exactly how it's advertised. I don't feel misled or deceived in any way. I had just hoped for a little more. But, that's my fault... I guess. One last note... as a sort of reference. I ordered this at the $800 price-point... And, within a two-week period after that, the seller had reduced the price by $200. Can you deduce anything from that? I think I can. It's (obviously) because $500 - $600 is a much better target-range for a unit of this caliber... Thus far, I AM satisfied with this product, as it will suffice well for my higher-rep, in-home Smith-machine exercises... albeit nothing along the lines of anything TOO heavy. Overall, 4.5 stars... 👍🏻😎💪🏻 ... show more

  • Fairly easy to assemble
I wish the instructions would have been a little more clear and it would be nice if they would have suggested to lube up the slider rails

  • Not recommend
Not easy to assemble, we couldn’t finish the bench, the smith machine doesn’t work properly. Not worth it

  • I'd love to give it 5-starts but...
...there are two minor issues. First is that the 2" adapters have these nice looking, rounded endcaps on them. Those endcaps all popped off the first day of use. As soon as you slide a weight over them the pop off. Not a deal breaker but it leaves the bar looking "unfinished". Second, is that the slide rails NEED to be lubricated. The set came with the smallest amount of what can only be described as a gel. Not nearly enough to lube the rails. I lubed the rails with some silicone spray and they work great. Again, not a deal breaker but if you didn't realize this then it would have you possibly thinking that your machine is defective or even assembled incorrectly. It just needs to be greased. Those two things aside it is very sturdy and functions exactly how I would expect it to. ... show more
