There is some confusion over this shade being water permeable or not, the next rain will tell. It has two seams in it, which is not ideal. But it gives excellent shade, deeper than water permeable sails I bought before. If you need to make good quality shade, this is it. Also, the "arms" of the triangle aren't as skinny as in other shades, so you shade a bit more area with it. Update: The sail is waterproof and will collect rainwater, but that was fine for my application. After less than 4 weeks of using the shade, it faded severely. Sturdy sail, makes a nice deep shade, but will lose color quickly due to sun exposure.

Seems good quality. Heavy stitching and rings at end pressure points. Material does provide both UV and rain protection. Color is good. I also got the installation hardware kit; which I recommend. Makes putting it up much easier. *caution rain water can pool in the center* be aware and push water off from underneath* or install at a severe downwards angle* I can only have slight down angle due to needing headroom. ** last photo is over a year after putting up** this thing has exceeded my expectations. It has held up through wind, rain, snow, sleet, anything mother nature has thrown at it. It's getting dirty with mildew on top, but still intact.
