I bought two of these trash cans - 10.5 gallon wide for the kitchen and 2.5 gallon narrow for the bathroom. I'm very happy with the look and feel of them. They appear to be a great value, esp. if you get them on sale - the price around these Prime days fluctuates often. The larger can was $85 on the first Prime Day 7/11, yet I had purchased it for $42 on 7/8. Same for the smaller can - $46 on 7/12, I paid $23 on 7/8. They came very well packaged with thick styrofoam on top and bottom of the box and under the can lid where it meets the body of the can. It arrived USPS, and a big 'thump' I heard at delivery made me cringe, but there was no damage to the box or contents. Beyond price, tho, I needed a new trash can that didn't cause problems during warmer weather with gnats/flies. Most trash cans don't completely seal, but rather have an air gap of some sort around the lid that allows the smells to escape enough to attract these pests. This one closes over and around the inner bin, so fingers crossed, it's eliminated that problem. Because it's a step-open can, I shouldn't be cleaning off the lid from food hitting it as it goes in, like my previous can. Hopefully I'll only be dusting it occasionally! (For the larger can, it's not a pedal, but a hefty u-shaped bar.) The slow close shouldn't create a 'woosh' of smelly air wafting up, like my previous swinging lid can. I also no longer need a full size can taking up space, esp. since it takes us a week or more to fill it. I didn't want to lean down to a too short can, or worry about missing it because the opening was too small. The 10.5 gallon can is tall enough and the opening is large enough that it looks and feels like a full size can. It's taken some time to find the right can for what I needed - the 10.5 gallon definitely checks all the boxes. There were less improvements needed for the bathroom can, but the 2.5 gallon also checks all those boxes. Very happy with the cans. I'll update this review if there's more to share.

Packaged well. Easy to get product out of box. I did measure prior to purchase so I knew it would fit. Nothing to install, just put in place. The inner liner has, on either side, where you can grab it up and out if you want. Otherwise just putting a plastic liner instead, keeps it clean. Where we live our local trash station ONLY wants clear bags and we still had plenty of them that fit this unit. Stepping on the foot pedal is easy. Just keep your foot on it till you are done and it immediately closes down without a sound. We got the narrow one to fit the end of counter and doorway. It also keeps the air clean as the lid fits snuggly.

Manufacturing tolerances need to be tightened up. On the first trash can I ordered, the lid barely aligned with the body. If it had been any more skewed, it wouldn't have closed. Technically it worked, but it was the kind of thing that would have bothered me every single time I looked at it. To add insult to injury, the trash can went on sale right after it was delivered. Since I couldn't see any way of fixing the lid, I sent the original trash can back for a refund, then ordered another. This one suffers from the same problem, but to a far lesser extent. It's good enough. Been using it for several months now, and I'm happy with it. The pedal action works well, and the hard shell insert makes it easy to change bags. Final impression is positive. I just hoped for better quality control at this price point.

I got this trash can to replace my rectangular one because it was one of the only lidded cans that was in portrait orientation for lack of better words. It’s a trash can. It holds trash, so it’s fine, but one thing drives me nuts. Because of how the lid is, if the trash can is fewer than 2-3 inches away from the wall, the lid won’t fully open. If it’s closer, the bottom of the lid hits the wall, preventing it from opening, so now, I m constantly pulling the trash can away from the wall before I can open it.

We love the container size which is smaller then the typical 13gal bag trash bins. Why? It helps eliminate the folded bag edge to sag into the plastic inner bin then waste can get between the bag and inner container. Less mess means less cleaning.

Not sure about you, but I had been improvising with hooks and baskets instead of buying a legit trash can to hold my trash bags. That led to the occasional accident, of course. Now, this 10 gallon can leaves a decent chunk of my 12 gallon trash bags unused, but that also gives me incentive to root around in the far ends of my refrigerator shelves for long-forgotten products to throw out. So it's working out!

The plastic insert has a really strong odor on arrival. I have washed it out and left it outside to “air out”. The lid does have a nice, soft closure. I plan to use this receptacle for dog food. I will definitely put an odor free kitchen bag in the plastic insert before I add the dry dog food. Otherwise, the trash can has a nice size and shape and arrived with no damage since it is packaged really well.

Arrived in great condition and works exactly as promised! East to open with foot press, has an inner can that I use to place bag inside then tuck the bag under edge of outer can. This way the bag doesn't show outside but since it is tucked, won't fall down inside the can. Once open, the lid does go down slowly and quietly. Our family likes the look of the can too.
