I bought this trash an as a replacement to one I had for several years that the lift mechanism had ceased to function. This one appeared to be the exact same one, however, there are a couple of differences. First of all the old one used D batteries and the new one uses C batteries. Not a huge deal except I bought new D batteries for the old one thinking that was the problem. The other difference is the opening and closing are not as fluid or as quiet as it was on the old one! Not deal breakers, but for someone who owned a similar product that was better, it is notable.

It is not good at all. In fact all of these styles from other srller too are all trash. Did nott ever have to spend so much on these items in my life. Thus one started to leak from bottom last year so now is used only paper or lint for laundry. I am tired of purchasing trash cans not built well at all I am not on the stainless steal I bought last year.....sane problems with battery mechanism and tonight found liquids all over kitch and paid more then this one(62.00!) there are all poor quality at to much of a cost. How this can happen 4 to 5 times to me is nothing I can understand. Never should need a warranty for trash when offered one. No room in this rental for thr real dancy ones for estate home, not my style nor in my budget. Going back to the regular kind with no batteries needed as they cost a fortune to and rediculous to need gor trash cans. Companies should supply lifetime batteries for consumers who buy and like product that never leaks. I believe it is the bottom not designed well with as not one solid piece, just a little addon for looks. Think about the product going into it who cars about mixing white trash can with black bottom or whatever color they all are horrible. If is was all one piece at bottom I would have first one from 2016 bought for 75.00. Its so unfair and not spending another 60+ for 6th one. Yo many pieces and batteries for holding bunch of garbage. Going back in time to make my life easier and no more of these designs for me. My mom had a plastic all one piece lasted for years. These are made for looks for user friendly to me. Trash cans costing way to much. I do not need it as a focal point in my kitchen, rather be less noticed. No more time to "waste" on trash can that causes more "Waste". Things not made like years ago that is fir sure!!!!

When searching for a stainless finish automatic garbage can, I went through about 30 options. This one had decent reviews and the best price (at that time). Take away the automatic part, the finish is nice, it's wider than I expected but hold a standard 13 gallon bag, there is the fitting that holds the bag in. Now the bad - when I first started using it, I used rechargable batteries. It would automatically lift most of the time, maybe 8/10 attempts. No big deal. After a couple weeks, I noticed it responding less. I made sure the switch was on, switched to (new) alkaline batteries, cleaned the buttons (guessing the sensor is in there) but to no avail. Around a month now and it lifts about 4-5/10 times. Being it is wider, it makes getting larger items an issue, but I can also see past that.
