This trashcan is the perfect size for my home office, the perfect color, and so incredibly handy! I never thought that I would buy an automatic trashcan, but now I’m thinking I need a full sized one for the kitchen, because it is too convenient! My dog has already figured out he can open it by sticking his nose over the sensor, so I’ll have to make sure not to leave any chocolate in there – otherwise, I have no complaints. 😂 I went ahead and splurged on little pink trash bags as well, and I’m so glad I did! Every time I look at this trashcan I smile. It also showed up way earlier than it was supposed to - I just ordered it yesterday, and here it is! It takes two AA batteries that are very easy to put in, and they stay right where they are supposed to. I’m wondering if perhaps a redesign took place between some of the older reviews and now, because there is no possible way the batteries are falling out when I change the bag. It stays open as long as something is blocking the sensor, and closes about five seconds after whatever that is moves away. You can also open it and then turn the power off so it stays open. You can also turn the power off when it’s closed to keep things like dogs and cats from opening it, if you must. I will say that I cannot keep it under my desk, because the light reflecting off of the bottom of the desk makes it open, and it will not close. That’s okay though. All in all, I’m glad I made this purchase. I was using an actual basket for the longest time along with Dollar General bags, and such a small little upgrade has gone such a long way in my office. If you are like me and you spend upwards of 50 hours a week in your home office, just buy the cute trashcan. You deserve it.

No Touch, No Fuss — The Cutest Way to Keep It Clean 💖🚮✨ This Ninestars pink motion-sensor trash can is a total upgrade for any bathroom or bedroom. It’s compact, stylish, and the automatic lid makes tossing stuff feel weirdly satisfying. Just wave your hand and poof — it opens like magic. The 3-gallon size is perfect for everyday use in smaller spaces — not too bulky but holds enough to not be annoying. And the infrared motion sensor is responsive, quiet, and actually works every time (no awkward lid malfunctions here). Made from durable ABS plastic, it’s lightweight but sturdy. And that pink color? Total aesthetic win. Adds a pop of personality to your space while keeping things fresh and touch-free. If you want a cute, functional, and hygienic trash solution — especially for makeup wipes, tissues, or bathroom waste — this is it. Pretty and practical.

I’ve had this Ninestars rose gold trash can in my office since 2023, and it has been one of my favorite functional decor pieces. Here is how it’s holding up after nearly three years of daily use: The Battery Miracle: I honestly don't think I’ve changed the batteries since I bought it nearly 3 years ago! It runs on 2 AA batteries, and the efficiency of the sensor is mind-blowing. Touchless Sensor & Lid Closure: The "futuristic" non-touch sensor still works perfectly. It detects motion quickly, and the lid closure is consistent—it doesn’t get stuck or hang open. There is also a small manual handle in the middle of the lid if you prefer to pull it open yourself and turn off the sensor. Capacity & Cleanliness: For a smaller office or bathroom-sized can, this holds a lot. It helps maintain office/room cleanliness by keeping trash tucked away and out of sight. Build & Durability: The base is a very sturdy metal, while the lid is plastic. It has survived moves and daily bumps without a single dent. Lid Stability: Even though the lid is plastic, it’s quite stable and sits flush on the metal base. My only minor note is that over the years, the plastic has faded slightly, so it doesn't perfectly match the metal base anymore, but you really have to look for it to notice. Value for Money: Considering I haven't had to maintain it or buy new batteries in 3 years, the value for money is incredible. It looks high-end but is tough and sturdy!

When my 3 year old asked for a rainbow theme bathroom I naturally purchased a rainbow garbage can. Unfortunately, it made a nice orange rust ring on my new white tile floor and it had to go. So I asked him again, “what kind of garbage do you want in your rainbow bathroom?” His response, “A yellow one with an automatic door.” For those who don’t know my son his favorite color is yellow and he has an obsession with anything automatic or motion censored. When I saw this garbage can I thought, “Wow did someone make this just for him?” Well it arrived and now I am obsessed. It was so easy to assemble (some batteries, put a little tall bag in it and place the black frame and lid on top). You waved over the censor it opens. And then after a few seconds, just closes itself. It’s amazing. It’s perfect for diapers too because you just wave your hand and you don’t have to touch anything. The lid helps seal any rancid odors. And the best part is that it occupies my toddler on a daily basis. The day we opened it he played with it for 2 hours in the living room. In fact, I may just put one on his Christmas list for pure entertainment value. It’s a great technology! It is a pretty small size though so you have to change the bag every day or so. In fact I’m going to see if they make it in larger sizes right now because that’s his much I love it.

This trash can worked well, but then the lid stopped working. While it qorked, it was nice to be able to throw things away without touching the trashcan. It was also helpful for the kids to throw things away without indiscriminately touching everything. However, it only lasted 3 years and 3 months. Unfortunately the warranty period has passed. The trash can becomes worthless if the purpose is to have a cover for it because now I have to use my hand to remove it when I want to throw it away; that defeats the purpose of touchless. For the price, that's about $10 a year. That's not unaffortdable, but I also should not be needing to replace my trashcan every three years; that's just waste.
