Did not have any of the issues mentioned in reviews for this model. Lid arrived attached and in working order. Stickers came off easily. No scuffs, dents or scratches. Came wrapped securely. Arms work as expected without any issues. Lid closes as expected. Is a light plastic so can move when stepping but, ours is against a wall so not an issue. I would not have paid full price but was on sale at 50% off. Original price of $50 is a bit much for a trash can. Especially one of lighter type molded plastic. Some of the reviews and videos are for the other models as well which I think added to some confusion in some of these reviews. The basic model has a plastic step not metal for example. ... show more

This really is a good durable basic kitchen trash can so far. It looks nice, it’s a good size, the liftable inside rim that holds the trash bag down is also a DEFINITE PLUS!! It does tend to scoot backwards a bit (like most plastic step cans in this price range do) when you step on it to raise the lid, but ours goes against the wall so that’s not a problem. But… it does take some muscle & a little brainwork to attach the lid to the rod/lift mechanism. If it wasn’t for my husband being on the strong side, and handy with a pair of pliers, I couldn’t have done it on my own. I’m no weakling by any means, but Honestly, I would’ve had to return it just for that reason alone. Otherwise it’s a really good can but Rubbermaid absolutely needs to attach the lid at the factory… Period. There’s no excuse to put your faithful consumers to work, and deal with that frustration, when we’re spending our hard earned money on your product. But like I said previously, otherwise it’s a clear winner at a good price. ... show more

Love everything about this except the lift bar for the bag broke after several months. After working with it I can still use it just a little aggravating. I like the wide mouth which fills the whole trash bag, and the way the lid will stay open if needed like while cooking you can just toss into trash without using foot pedal. The bag is easliy removed when full too which is wonderful. ... show more

I absolutely loved this garbage can. I really liked that you can't see the garbage bag when used correctly. The trash can looks good and it does a really good job of keeping smells in. This is great for a home with pets! Pets can't get to the trash and the can contains the smell from the used puppy pads! I made sure we were very careful not to put any more pressure than was absolutely necessary when putting a bag in or taking one out. It still broke, though! :'( I thought that maybe I could get a new piece/part or something, but I can't because it was the actual trash can itself that broke where the plastic gray piece is supposed to snap in. That means the trash can can't be used with the plastic bag holder-pieces and the can itself is too big to wrap the bags around the top of the rim. The bags wrip almost every time! I wouldn't be so upset about replacing the can if it wasn't sooo expensive to begin with! AND VERY IMPORTANTLY TO THE MANUFACTURER: STOP PUTTING THE LARGE STICKER THAT IS HARD TO GET OFF! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO CUSTOMERS?! ... show more

Probably advertising our stupidity here but the same thing might happen to others. We opened the box as soon as it was delivered and set up the garbage can in a carpeted area. The foot pedal to open the lid didn't work. We checked everything and tried it again. Didn't work. Fiddled with it, complained a little, and finally decided we probably had to exchange it for one that worked. I set it on the tile floor in the kitchen to retrieve the packing box and, out of curiosity, stepped on the pedal and VIOLA! - it opened just like it's supposed to! We feel a little silly but it's possible this can happen to others so we decided to report our 'problem'. By the way, we're very happy with the garbage can! ... show more

This garbage can is okay. It did come exactly as described by the seller and it was packaged very well. I would absolutely purchase from the seller again in the future. I just don't really like the garbage can. Because of the piece that is supposed to go over the bag to hold it around the edge, it breaks very easily and then it's really hard to get a garbage bag inside that can. I have to stretch my garbage bag every time now because it's broke. ... show more

This garbage can is a little wide for the garbage bag. I have to stretch the bag a bit to fit it on the can, but the top opener works great. The plastic is thick and soft, so it's not going to crack.
