This is just very poorly designed. The latch doesn't engage - it isn't the right depth. I bought this to replace an old 3D printed one - which worked just fine - so I know that it's this unit and not the EV charger. I did notice on the reviews and some reported that the latch felt like it wasn't fully engaging - and now I understand why. Returned it and will get something from another company that knows what they are doing. I'll pay more but that's fine - no wonder they are selling this cheap.

I purchased to use on my Teslsa wall charger. The handle plugs into the side of wall charger and is hard to make room to plug in if you have the cable wrapped around the charger. I wanted a holder the plugs straight in instead of sideways this one works great.

The product mainly comes in 2 parts and screws. You install the backplate, the screw on the front plate, which should allow easier install except for the fact that it requires you to install two small screws in deep holes to install the front plate on. Aesthetically, this looks better, and makes no difference functionally, but you will struggle a bit during install. No issues wrapping the cable around and latching the evse handle. The product doesn't feel cheap and at the time of purchase was the best value evse handle holder for J1772 handles.
