Description

What does “semi-permanent” hair color mean? Semi-permanent hair color deposits vibrant pigments onto your hair without altering its natural structure. It adds color, shine, and richness while being gentle and conditioning. How long does semi-permanent color last? Typically 3–6 weeks, depending on hair type, porosity, and washing habits. It gradually fades rather than growing out harshly. How is semi-permanent different from demi-permanent hair color? Semi-Permanent: No ammonia or peroxide. Coats hair & fades with washes. Great for bold, fun, or subtle color shifts. Demi-Permanent: Low peroxide. Slightly penetrates the hair for longer wear. Great for blending, toning, & enhancing natural color. Can I lighten my hair with semi-permanent color? No, semi-permanent color cannot lighten hair. It works best on your current base, or over pre-lightened hair for brighter, more vibrant results. Can I mix shades to customize my color? Yes! Semi-permanent formulas are great for blending shades to create your perfect custom color.

  • Absolute game changer
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
Let me tell you about this amazing dye, I have had my hair dyed purple in a salon twice in the last 6 months. The first time it faded to lilac within about a week then faded to almost nothing in about 6 weeks which is to be expected. The second time it faded to a matte grey in just a few days and looked terrible within 2 weeks. I decided I couldn't spend the money to have it dyed again so soon so I bought this product hoping that it would give me a few more weeks before needing to hit the salon. I did not in any way expect that the color would be bright and vibrant for weeks! I am 4 weeks in and it's starting to fade just a little but it is still very much a bright purple, no where near lilac or grey. It was easy to use and didn't smell terrible. This product is the holy grail of semi-permanent dye. The only con I have to mention is that it will absolutely dye your sink and your shower. I got my sink back to white, but even after 2 scrub downs with acetone, my shower floor is still purple. I'm not really sure how to prevent that but it's definitely a pain. Photos show what I dyed over, the day after dying, 3 weeks after dying. ... show more

  • Color That Pops Without the Damage – Thanks, Adore
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I’ve tried a lot of hair dyes over the years, but Adore Semi-Permanent is by far my favorite. The colors come out vibrant, rich, and true to the shade shown on the bottle. What I love most is how gentle it feels—there’s no harsh smell, no burning sensation, and it actually leaves my hair feeling softer and more conditioned afterward. The application is super easy, and the color payoff is amazing even without bleach on my darker strands. It fades gradually and evenly, so I don’t get that patchy, washed-out look that other brands sometimes leave behind. Plus, it’s affordable enough to experiment with different shades whenever I feel like switching things up. If you’re looking for bold, beautiful color that’s kind to your hair and budget, I definitely recommend giving Adore a try. ... show more

  • My Hair Loves Adore Colors!
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I have tried several different semi-permanent hair color brands over the years and this one is my absolute favorite! I have tried purples, blues, and greens and they never left my hair feeling dried out or brittle. Everyone's hair is different and you just have to try different brands to find the right one for you. My original color is very dark brown, which I haven't seen for over 30 years. Since then my hair has been bleached and dyed light auburn(different brand) until a few years ago when I decided it was time for a new look. Adore semi permanent vegan hair dye leaves my hair soft and undamaged and the color lasts me months before a touch-up. I recently tried another brand that had pastel colors but wont do that again. I can get pastels with Adore if I mix it with Punky Pastel and conditioner to tone the color down especially with the purple rage. The lavender is not the purple color I like or I would just use that. This time I bought some Luxe Blue to make two-toned blue and purple pastel hair. Since I mix the Adore with conditioner I don't use as much and I am getting quite the collection of colors lol. If you have light color or bleached hair you should definitely try Adore. I love it and so does my hair! P.S. It's dye it's going to stain things if your not careful! Use an old towel to sit things on and an old t-shirt to wear and reuse them just to dye your hair. ... show more

  • Amazing!!!
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I love this stuff, have bought both of their purple shades at different times and they both came out beautifully, along with their electric lime color from when I went green a while back! My only issue is that it DOES fade a bit quicker than other hair dyes, so I have to dye it a few times a month, however for the length my hair is at I only need a little under half a bottle to cover it fully so I can't complain too much :) I totally recommend this to anyone who wanted a pretty color that fades quickly! ... show more

  • Get ready for vibrant purple!
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Review for lavender (used first): When my lavender color-depositing shampoo seemed to miss some spots (on my bleached dark blonde hair), I decided to try this semi-permanent dye to get more even coverage, and it did the trick. So easy to use and not at all messy in the bathroom (unlike the Manic Panic I used to use!) Lasts a pretty long time, even when shampooing with warm water. (I hate shampooing with cold water in winter!!) Review for Purple Rage: I wanted to bring a bit more purple to my already lavender hair, but I wasn't quite prepared for how deep and vibrant of a purple this gave me! It took me a few days to get used to it, but after a few shampoos faded the color just a tad, I came to love it. A very intense, vibrant purple that will last a long time. Purple Rage, indeed! :-) ... show more

  • Purple turned to green within a week.
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Do not buy this in purple, it's blue-based and it will turn your hair green. I usually buy a deep purple dye then dilute it with white conditioner to get a nice pastel color. This time, I ran out of Direction's Violet so I decided to try out this brand after seeing all the shining reviews. I went with "Purple Rage" thinking that it will give me the same nice pastel purple after diluting it. And it did, until I washed my hair, which then resulted in a blue with some hints of green. Seriously? After one wash? I know that colors like this will fade but Direction has never faded in ONE wash nor did it turn to an entire different color. But wait, it gets better, after the second wash, my hair turned GREEN. And after the third wash, my hair was in a garbage color. After two weeks, my hair eventually stopped fading and I was then stuck with the residue of the dye, which was a nasty light green mixed with dirty blonde. I had to shell out more money to get rid of the residue and damage my hair with bleach again. TL;DR: If you are going to buy this in purple, DON'T. It fades super fast and your hair will turn green within a week because the dye is blue-based. Instead, get La Riche Direction's Violet. It fades beautifully and it will last. ... show more

  • Not great
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
When I first dyed my hair with this semi permanent dye the color was vivid and cute until it faded to an ashy blue. I then tried to color correct using a pink and then redyed purple using Splat. I think I had a better outcome. Last pic is the splat color fresh and faded

  • This stuff is to dye for!!
Color: 116 Purple Rage Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
TL,DR: this stuff is legit, works on unbleached (but lightened) hair, it’s an alcohol-free aloe vera based formula, AND you get two bottles for the price of one!! That’s right — 2 for 1! My light brown hair asked for a colorful makeover. The last time I had dyed it was half a decade ago, and before then I kept going back and forth between carrot-top and tomatohead. I figured this time, should I embody a beetroot? Challenged accepted! And thus began this mission. Because my hair cannot handle bleach, I researched what is the best way to transform unbleached hair to purple. The first step was to lighten the hair a shade or two. I stumbled upon a variety of natural methods, and ended up doing a homemade paste of sorts using 3% hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and honey, leaving it on for 30 minutes before washing. I applied it twice — waited about two weeks between application. It made my hair a dark orangey copper the first time, then slightly more golden the second time. Nostalgia almost convinced me to stay with that color, but no… The mission was to get that bloody beetroot! The next step was finding a dye that works on unbleached hair. I had used “Wildfire” flavored Manic Panic the last time I dyed my hair, to obtain that spicy candy red. It didn’t let me down before, so why not go with that brand again, right? Ha! Right. It was quite the letdown. The concoction was more like a color depositing conditioner that didn’t deposit any color. Such deception… but! My determination superseded that feeling, so back to the drawing board I went. After researching legit semi-permanent dyes, I stumbled upon a few, one of them being Adore. I was leaning towards Arctic Fox at first, but after reading almost all the Amazon reviews on this product, I opted for their Purple Rage and Truly Red. I first applied the purple to most of my hair, then applied red to the bottom portion, the bangs, and some of the front strands of hair. I twisted each portion of hair like a cinnamon bun, covered them with a plastic cap, and “put them in the oven” by wrapping a heating pad around the cap (one review suggested to apply heat and mentioned using the heating pad instead of a hairdryer). Because I didn’t want to relive the panic Manic Panic gave me, I left the dyes on for about four hours to ensure proper color absorption. I then unwrapped and uncoiled the hair and washed the dyes out with only conditioner and not so warm but not cold water. And… As you can see from the photos, this stuff really works! To my surprise, the dyes actually didn’t leave my bathtub looking like the aftermath of La Batalla del Vino. The purple dye did leave a few small streaks, but they came off completely right after I cleaned the tub. Also, I didn’t realize at first, but this dye has no alcohol! I avoid any and every hair product with any variation of alcohol in it. My hair appreciates sobriety and hydration. The aloe vera in this formula provides the kind of hydration my hair unexpectically needed from a hair dye. It’s also worth mentioning the package comes with two bottles of dye for the price of one — same size bottle as Arctic Fox, but at half the cost! In this economy, that is most definitely a win. I ended up with four bottles altogether. Just one bottle of each color sufficed. Even after using so much of the one bottle of purple dye, I still had plenty left over. I put some in a separate bottle, added conditioner, mixed them up, and did the same in another bottle with the red. Although it ended up looking like a female Magneto and not so much a beetroot, I’d still consider this mission accomplished! I’m dyeing to try out other colors when I bluelieve I’m redy — maybe in another five years, maybe sooner! So, yeah… 10/10 would recommend! ... show more
