I’m a beginner hair dyer, and this is the most of my hair I have ever dyed before. However, it was very easy to use and we somehow managed not to stain anything. After applying both colors, we put a plastic bag over my hair and blow dried on low for 15 minutes. It worked great, and turned out very pink and vibrant. I used the violet gem and raspberry twist colors. My one complaint is that the purple turned out a bit more pinkish than I was expecting, however it was still a very nice color. I would definitely recommend using gloves and covering your work surface, since it was very staining. You also have to watch out for transfer when it’s still wet, at least for the first day or two. Fortunately, once it was dry, it didn’t transfer any color onto my white pillowcase, even on the first night of having it. It also seemed gentle enough on my hair, and left it in pretty good condition. Also- if you don’t have a specialized brush for applying the color, a toothbrush comes in pretty handy :) ... show more

i frickin love this color so bad , it doesn’t stain as much either & if it does just use a little lysol or any disinfecting spray & hot water it’ll come up.

It was pretty good and intense colour. Just didn't end up loving the way it looked in MY hair. I've never used semi permanent dye before so I don't know if this is normal, but, the colour kinda came off onto my towel whenever my hair got a lil wet.... like if I washed my face for example.

(Dying method: wash hair, skip conditioner, let dry completely; apply dye, gather hair under shower cap, use hot blow dryer for a few minutes; wait 5 hours, rinse in COLD water and NO soap, lightly coat hair with an after-color conditioner and let air dry) On my blonde hair, it came out a nice dark, dusty purple. The bottom half of my hair was a fading pinkish/orangey color, leftover from SPLAT's Luscious Raspberry, and this dye gave it the deep magenta shine that I was hoping for. As a blonde that refuses to bleach/lighten before using direct dye, this brand and color seems duller and fades faster than Splat does. Strangely, though, it also bleeds less. ... show more

It comes out very bright and covers my gray. I do leave it on longer than listed in the instructions and I use a conditioning cap while it's on, but it always turns out amazing and I get tons of compliments.
