  • These sockets can save your day!
These work fairly well, do what you can to break the rust, tap broken stud both ways try heat, so it does not break flush.

  • Worth every bit
Was working on my son-in-laws Toyota Avalon, and snapped the upper right stud for the thermostat housing. For those that have, or had these, it is recessed, and under the valve cover. I tried everything, then saw this. The nut is 10mm, the stud, maybe 6mm. We'll, it worked flawlessly. Smiling ear to ear! Thank you! Great product!!! ... show more

  • Easy to extract and re-insert studs
Surprised how well these worked considering the price. Grabs studs and won’t let go until you want them to. The nature of the design does slightly damage the threats, but not to the point of needing to chase the threads afterwards with a die. Does exactly what I need for the price that pleased me.

  • Used Once, Worked Great!
Bought this kit a few years ago and finally used it for the first time to remove these from a Dana 30 front differential - these were bolts that the heads had snapped off. I tried removing them by double nutting them but no joy. Stud removed did the trick! I'm impressed!

  • Used on my 04 Ford exhaust manifolds
Worth the money built to quality and the durability is there even after heating up the broken bolts

  • Disappointed
I saw a review of this product on a famous YouTubers channel on a video comparing stud extractors. I ran into a situation working on the subframe on my vehicle where I had a need for a tool like this, and after my vise grips, knipex cobras, and mapp torch failed to extract the broken bolt I decided to purchase this tool. Granted, I only got to use the 10mm, but the tool failed on the first try. Some of the other reviews complained that the roller bearings fall out during use, and after using this tool that’s exactly what happened to me as well. The design of the tool doesn’t seem to be the issue so much as the materials used. It makes me question the quality of other similar tools of this design as well although I would suspect that there must be one out there that is more robust. The problem is that the retainer that keeps the rollers in contact with the inner walls of the socket is not hard enough. The metal is soft causing it to spread open, and is then not able to keep the rollers from moving. Once this retainer is stressed the material further weakens causing it to happen again even if you disassemble the tool to repair it. Too hard of a material would be problematic as well, as the retainer would likely crack under stress, but ABNs version is just not hard enough to work on seized fasteners. Since the tool is advertised as being able to handle extracting rusty studs, and it not only failed but broke l, I have no choice but to give 1 star. ... show more

  • Saved me a lot
I saw the same thing on the tool trucks that come by work for 300. I got them here and they do the same thing the ones on the tool truck does. I haven’t had a problem and have used them several times. If your a mechanic or work on motors or anything where some heads of bolts may brake off leaving the stud in whatever it’s holding together these will save you a lot of time and aggravations. ... show more
