  • Inexpensive and does a great job
Size: 40 pc SAE
I feel like I have already reviewed this. But it is a good, cost effective, tap set, for someone, like me, that isn't an engineer and I am not drilling and tapping all day. Lots of widgets for most jobs.

  • It will get the job done.
Size: 40 pc SAE
No problems. Was put to the test. 7/16 tap performed as it should. Got the job done. Nice case to keep everything in and in order. Easy to read the sizes on the taps and dies.. very good. I believe that the negative reviews come from people that do not know how to use this set of taps and dies. No offense. I've had a lot of experience drilling holes and tapping them out... ... show more

  • Okay for hobbyist or tinker, maybe, otherwise not.
Size: 40 pc Metric
I suppose for the price it might not be bad, but for workmanship and overall quality it is really poorly made. I paid more than the current price by 23%. I remember vaguely thinking it was priced somewhat high but got it anyway. I has come in handy a few times and nothing has broken yet. For a tinker hobbyist I think it is okay but if you have the $$ keep looking. ... show more

  • Works fine!
Size: 40 pc SAE
It worked well for the 3/8” metal hole I was treading on a steering volumn ( of very hard steel)….had to bring in some vice grips to help. set the tap nice and tight, but after that it cut fine. Not too bad for under 39$!!!

  • Can these be recycled? My other junk can.
Size: 86 pc Metric and SAE
Cheap case, vacuum formed inside and cheap at that. For me this only works for chasing threads. Pure junk. No engineering involved at all. This must be a Marketing driven company. Who could care less if it works, just make it look good so we can get rid of them. This will cost Amazon around $215 for selling this junk without a warning. I deferred that much from amazon purchases and bought somewhere else. I couldn't use standard size tap drills. The 6mm isn't a tap it's a hole reamer. If you really try you might get a 15% thread in aluminum. Just drill about 2 number sizes over the nominal amount. I'd be embarrassed to sell this set. ... show more
