  • Tiny but Mighty
I've used this set several times since I've purchased it and it's perfect. It's case is small and can fit in your pocket. The one I've used the most is the smallest size but they've made quick work of removing stripped screws. They grip easily onto the screw and remove it with ease. It's a simple set that you just turn over and continue the job. If there's a newbie doing the work, instructions are labeled on the container it comes in. Definitely recommend for light duty work and if you are interested in purchasing a set, try something like this before getting a more expensive set. Definitely worth the price and proven performance. ... show more

  • Could be a Great Stocking Stuffer
I picked up this Damaged Screw Extractor Set as a gift for a friend who’s always working on projects, and honestly, it’s become one of those unexpectedly useful tools in my own workshop too. The set includes a good range of sizes, so whether I’m pulling out a tiny screw that’s stripped or a larger one that’s been rounded off, there’s a bit here that works. Right out of the box, the bits feel solid and well made. They’re not the flimsy sort you get in cheap knockoff kits. I’ve already used them on a couple of tough jobs — a stripped screw head on an old cabinet hinge and a rusted screw in a deck board — and both came out cleanly with minimal effort. What I like most is that the extractors grip without shredding the metal, so I don’t have to go chasing broken bits inside the wood or metal. One thing to call out is that you will need a decent drill and a bit of patience to use them effectively. They aren’t magic, but they’re way better than trying to wrestle a rounded screw with pliers. For anyone who does any DIY, woodworking, or mechanical work, this set is exactly the kind of tool you don’t realize you need until you absolutely do. In short, it was a great gift idea and I’d buy it again for myself. Solid performance, good range of sizes, and a real help when getting out damaged screws. ... show more

  • Get it!
Wife stripped screws in some old furniture. Did my research and almost purchased an over-the-top set of extractors and then found this set. I thought “Why not? If it doesn’t work I only wasted a few bucks”. These extractors worked like a breeze. No damage to the tips and pulled out 5 stripped screws and look like brand new. Ignore all of the bad reviews and just get this - especially for older screws like the ones I pulled out. ... show more

  • Worked?
This worked on a vent that was in place since 1940 but I had to use a utility knife to cut all the pain off it first. It destroyed the bit which was the smallest and the one I am likely to use the most. So that’s a bit annoying.

  • The "I Should Have Listened to My Father" Recovery Kit
I bought this set because I am a "stripper"—not the fun kind, but the kind who encounters a Phillips-head screw and thinks, "I bet I can turn this into a smooth, featureless metal crater if I just push harder." This kit is essentially a "Do-Over" button for the mechanically overconfident. 1. The Stages of Grief Using this tool is a journey through the five stages of home improvement grief: Denial: "I don't need an extractor. I’ll just use a rubber band and some prayer." Anger: (This involves a lot of words that would make a sailor blush while the drill bit spins uselessly). Bargaining: "Please, just catch one thread. I’ll never use a cheap power drill again." Depression: Sitting on the floor staring at a rounded-out bolt head that is now part of the house's permanent structure. Acceptance: Opening this kit and admitting I am not the master of my own domain. 2. The "Reverse" Psychology The most confusing part of this tool is that it works in reverse. You have to set your drill to "Counter-Clockwise," which goes against every instinct I’ve developed since I was five years old. It feels like trying to write with your non-dominant hand while looking through a mirror. But when that "Burnishing" end starts digging a hole into the soul of the screw, you feel a surge of dark, industrial power. 3. The "Death Grip" Moment There is a specific, magical second where the "Extractor" side finally bites into the metal. It’s better than any cinematic plot twist. You feel a tug, the drill slows down, and suddenly, the screw that has been ruining your life for the last two hours begins to back out like a defeated villain in a Western. I’m not saying I cheered, but I’m not saying I didn't do a victory lap around the kitchen island. 4. The "Gift for Men" Branding The box markets this as a "Gift for Men," which is a polite way of saying: "We know you’re going to mess up that IKEA shelf, and we want you to be able to fix it before your partner sees it." It’s the ultimate "Secret-Keeping Tool." It’s the hardware equivalent of an apology. The Verdict Pros: It actually works on screws that have been rounded out until they look like polished chrome. The carrying case is small enough to hide in your pocket so nobody has to know you failed the first time. Makes you look like a "pro" who knows how to handle a "technical malfunction" (instead of a guy who just used the wrong bit). Cons: Requires a steady hand and a level of patience that I usually lack by the time I reach for it. You will realize that you have wasted years of your life trying to use pliers on things that never stood a chance. Does not come with the replacement screws you’ve inevitably destroyed. ... show more

  • Excellent product! Outperformed competitor from Lowe's that cost more than double!
Anyone who owns Price-Pfister sinks knows that over the years they have deliberately used softer screws to hold the washer in the cartridge so that instead of a 40¢ washer the entire $6.99+ cartridge must be replaced. It’s gotten worse. My bathroom sink has had one replacement of the hot water cartridge several years ago and recently developed the tiniest of leaks. I popped the cap of the facet handle—the handle, not the cartridge—put a Phillips screwdriver into a virgin screw, pushed down and turned, and stripped the soft head. I made valiant efforts to turn it, all in vain. Baking soda and super-glue did not make a new head. So I ordered this set from Amazon for $7.73, but then went to Lowe’s and bought their “SpeedOut Steel Double-Ended 2-in Screw extractor set $17.98 4.5 Stars.” I carefully researched and followed all the DIY instructions to use it right and did get it right. Sprayed first with a silicone lubricant. Knew exactly the screw size and the right extractor to match. Moved progressively up the thickness ladder of extractors and always drilled slowly counter-clockwise to keep maximum traction. Nothing worked. I even used a Porter-Cable metal cutter to cut a new straight deep slot for a big screwdriver—in vain. I decided to cut the handle in half, and wanting to know how much room there was to spare I decided to remove the cold water handle. To my shock, despite it having a virgin screw head, being locked with a plumber’s wrench at the base, my spraying with Silicone lube, and pressing down with all my weight that screw too was completely locked into place. So I called a plumber to replace the entire sink and made an appointment three days in future. Then this little kit from Amazon arrived. I thought it was pointless even to try, but I did. The handle was already lubed. I used the #3, drilled all the way down, then reversed. Up it came, easy-peezy, just like that. Why? This less expensive kit has deeper-cut less densely spiraled cutting edges so they bit into and gripped the softer screw metal and pulled it right out. Despite the lower 4.3 rating this screw extractor is a very good buy. ... show more

  • Nothing Short of Amazing!!! Nothing Short of Amazing!!!
Amazing product! I'd just about given up hope getting a badly stripped screw out of a motorcycle main Brake cylinder. I tried every trick and every size of Phillips head screwdriver (long, short, fat, skinny, etc...) but it only stripped the screw even worse. This tool (literally) removed it in less than 3 seconds! Drilled the hole with one end. Removed the bit and flipped it to the screw remover end (looks like a small auger), and the screw was out on the first try! I am ecstatic over this product! ... show more

  • Handy Tool Set That Gets the Job Done
Handy Tool Set That Gets the Job Done This screw extractor set is a useful addition to any toolbox. It worked well on several stripped and damaged screws that would have been very difficult to remove otherwise. The bits feel durable, and the set is easy to use with a standard drill. The compact design makes it convenient to store, and it can save a lot of time and frustration when dealing with stubborn screws and bolts. It's also a practical gift idea for anyone who enjoys DIY projects or home repairs. Overall, a helpful tool set that performs well and is worth having on hand for those situations when regular tools just aren't enough. ... show more
