The instructions aren’t really instructions and are completely useless and inaccurate. You’re better off trying to figure it out yourself, because the instructions will just confuse you. The product was in okay condition – a few tiny rust spots and slightly bent pieces, but nothing major. The customer service for this company is absolutely the worst. We called to get actual instructions and were told that they are aware that the instructions given are not right and that they are “working on it”. Why would they sell the item without correct instructions? They had no answer for us. Another reviewer mentioned a YouTube video with better instructions. This video shows the shorter version of this awning. If you are ordering the longer one (as we did), then you have a few extra parts that are not explained. Even with the video, it was still incredibly difficult for us to figure out. It’s probably pretty simple if given proper instructions). The company was no help, but Amazon has great customer service and offered to have the item picked up at our house and returned for a full refund if we couldn’t figure out how to assemble it on our own. We ended up figuring it out enough to use the product and didn’t have to go that route. Also, the screws that it comes with I don’t think are sufficient. They are also silver. We bought different ones from the hardware store and painted them black. I would never buy anything from this company again (Awntech). The awning ended up looking alright, but not worth it for how much it costs.

Lots of parts so read directions carefully and use common sense. One call to tech support and I got through it in about 4 hours of casual effort. Install takes two people. Seemed solid enough and metal costing hopefully will last in the Florida sun.

Instructions and parts list do not match the actual product, making it much more confusing to assemble than necessary and very difficult to determine if you're missing parts during the 30-day period before they charge very high prices for replacements.

This awning was not easy to assemble because although the parts are labeled in the manual, there’s no labeling on the actual parts. This made assembly so much harder than it had to be because it was so hard to discern what part was what. Also, we were disappointed in the color. It’s not really copper, but more like a rusty brown with no metallic sheen whatsoever. Looks okay but for the price we’re pretty disappointed overall.
