So far this is working great. Our older charger worked fine with our Volvo plug in hybrid, but our grandson was going to house sit while we were on vacation. His Chevy Equinox would start to charge, then shut down. I ordered this from Amazon. Easy to set up and worked perfectly for the 3 weeks he was here. Now with our Volvo back on the charger, I like this new charger better than the old one. We don't use any of the fancy adjustments, just plug it in whenever we are home. Our car, being a hybrid, has a small battery and charges slowly. But when we are ready to go somewhere, it is fully charged. No complaints whatsoever.

Excellent for home charging. I follow the ABCs of charging. If the car is home it’s always plugged in. That way I can charge at 8 amp and not worry about burning the place down.

Let me tell you something, folks. I’ve seen chargers, many chargers, some of them are low energy, some of them are a total disaster, total. This RYCHEENI 16 Amp Level 2 Portable EV Charger? Huge. Tremendous. Big league charging. First of all, 240V, 16A, 25 foot cable. That’s not small. That’s not some little weak, sad extension cord. This thing reaches. You’ve got a driveway? It reaches. You’ve got a garage? It reaches. You’ve got one of those weird parking setups where the outlet is hiding behind the lawn mower? Believe me, it reaches. Now they say Level 2 charging, about 12 to 15 miles per hour added. Four times faster than Level 1. Some people will tell you, “Oh no, it’s all the same.” Wrong. Totally wrong. It’s faster, it’s smarter, it’s very smart. I don’t think anybody knows the system better than me, and this system knows what it’s doing. It works with all SAE J1772 vehicles. Ford, GM, Hyundai, BMW, VW, Rivian, Porsche, the whole gang. Tesla? You need the adapter. That’s called business. It’s not their fault, it’s not my fault. I take full responsibility, it’s not my fault. The adjustable current, 8A, 10A, 12A, 16A. Very flexible. You’ve got a regular household outlet, it automatically adjusts. No puppet. No puppet. You’re the puppet, to the cheap chargers that fry your breaker. This one actually protects you. Lightning protection, grounding fault protection, overheat protection, overcurrent protection. Many protections. Many people are saying it’s safer than some public stations. Sad, but true. IP66 controller, IP54 connector. Rain, snow, cold down to -22°F. That’s cold. That’s “China ate your lunch, Joe” cold. It holds up. It doesn’t panic. I have a great temperament, and so does this charger. Plug and play. No electrician circus. No “Excuse me, excuse me, where’s the wiring diagram?” You plug it in, you charge, you win. We’re winning so much, you may even get tired of charging. Now, is it a 50 amp monster wall unit? No. But for the price, 125 dollars with the discount? Very smart. Very successful. You’re getting Level 2 performance without paying thousands for installation. That makes me smart. You’d be a terrible president if you overspent on a charger when this does the job. Build quality feels solid. Connector rated for 10,000 insertions. That’s a lot of insertions. Probably more insertions than some administrations had good policies. I’ve been very consistent about one thing, cheap plastics crack, good plastics last. This one feels sturdy, not flimsy, not low energy. Storage bag included. Wall mount included. NEMA 6-20 plug plus 5-15 adapter included. They didn’t nickel and dime you. Nobody knows value better than me, and this is value. Final verdict? If you want a portable, affordable Level 2 charger that’s safe, versatile, and not a total disaster, this one is big league. Huge. Tremendous. Believe me. Five stars. You’re fired, weak charging speeds. We’re charging again.

This portable charger has been easy to use and dependable in daily charging. The 25-foot cable makes a real difference. It gives plenty of reach in a garage or driveway without having to park perfectly aligned with the outlet. Charging performance has been consistent, delivering steady output and keeping up well for overnight charging. It’s nice having the option to run it at different amperages depending on the outlet being used. The build feels solid and durable. The connector fits securely into the vehicle port without wiggle, and the control box housing feels well protected for indoor or outdoor use. The cable jacket is thick and flexible without feeling stiff in colder weather. The connector looks great in white and the charging indicators are very informative on the main box. Portability is another plus. It stores easily in the included bag and won’t take up much room in the trunk. For something that can handle Level 2 charging, it remains manageable to move around. At $125.00, this is a good value for a dual-level portable EV charger with adjustable current and a full 25-foot cable.
