Thanks to this product, my expensive glass-topped patio table with central umbrella is no longer prone to getting destroyed. The heavy umbrella's pole passes through a hole cut into the center of the glass tabletop, and before using this device the pole could hit or press against the raw inside edge of the cut glass and cause it to break. This ingenious gizmo is basically a hollow cylinder that I easily pushed through the hole in the glass (it's tapered, making it easy to insert), and then I inserted the umbrella pole through the open center of the device. It forms a snug fit that is very smooth, and has just enough thickness and rigidity to even out all the forces of the pole against the glass. It even has a little lid on top, so you can use the table without umbrella and without an open hole in the center. I don't see any problems with this set, but I did have an idea of it that wasn't quite what you get. I was hoping to be able to cover the hole on my umbrella stand so that rain wouldn't get in, but the rubber wedge and the silicone pieces aren't compatible with each other. In the end, I was able to use the silicone cap but now I have 5 unnecessary pieces for the one that I needed. If the cone fits in your patio table, it is a really thick, lovely piece, but it's not what I really needed. For the price, I wish I could've just ordered the one piece I needed. ... show more
